No they do feel really slow for being the fastest production tanks in the world. A t55 will out accelerate you most games. Also from reading reports about the V50 of 7039 T6 ally and other light weight amours it should be performing better. A 7.62x51 NATO AP should not be penning 20mm of the stuff at all.
Stormers have a Perkins T6 diesel engine rather than the Jaguar J60 petrol, or Cummins BTA 5.9 diesel you’d find on Scimitars, Spartans, Sultans, Samaritans and Samson and Shielder. The Perkins engine was on some export Scorpions, and things like Scorpion 90. But the UK only had it in Stormer.
Petrol CVR(t)s had a TN15 transmission. IIRC the manufacturer, David Brown retroactively call it TN15P.
Diesel ones have TN15D, or TN15E.
Stormers HVMs have a TN15D but with a larger clutch pairing it to the Perkins engine.
Shielders have T303 which has and higher power rating and are a development of the T300 on export Stormers - and probably what the Stormer AD would have.
235hp up-rated EM235 CVR(t) has TN15E+ which is the TN15E with the Stormer clutch, and some other modifications to couple it with the improved cooling (the “Environmental Mitigation” part of the EM235 name). EM235s also have the final drives from Stormer.

Which is extremely odd, as we have what appears to be an early Striker going by the lack of stowage, floation screen, and sight cover. (Early 1980s)
I believe it’s modelled directly from Bovington’s Striker, 07FF56?
That one was delivered 18 Aug 1983, but seems to be modified to appear as a much older model eg. through the addition of the flotation screen, and the older missile controller’s sight/sight hood.

They have in the past restored stuff to service introduction standard, rather than kept them as they received.

The merlinArchive page says 07FF56 had an ISD of 01/02/1977. I assume the 1983 date is when it was transferred from what ever unit had it originally
But yeah, if it’s the same vehicle in the Tank Museum it’s been totally back-dated with the bolt-on transmission cover, flotation screens, and reverting the Combined Sight back to the original periscope.
Speaking of which, the Striker we have in the game should probably have the sight model change to the Combined Sight when the TI modification is installed, similar to what happens with T-80s and other tanks in the game
I was just doing research on the sights, do you know the difference between the two housings? I’m fairly sure the Striker as depicted in game should actually be MCLOS.
The Combined Sight housing is a different shape with a chunky armoured cover. The Sight head inside is also rather different looking with distinct channels for the day and thermal sights

No.43 is indeed the original Swingfire optical sight and not the CS thermal sight
So… would this be the CS, later mounted in the missile controller’s position on Striker? Being used in the dismounted role from FV438.

Personally I’d prefer Sabre as a premium. Didn’t the British add power traverse eventually on the Mk 2? Whereas the regular Scimitar never got it.
