The user i’m replying to wanted the LVKV 90B in the game, a version that does not exist. So i showed how to differentiate A from B versions :)
ah gocha
No, not really. The track would also not follow anymore if the target changed directions.
depends on the frequency of the lasers
As far as i have been able to find only the most modern versions have a pulse laser track of ~10 lasers a second. And i haven’t even been able to find exactly what version IRL has that software update or even confirm that it’s real to begin with.
Most of the CV90 we have in game only has the manual laser version. So the lases would have to be manually made for every time the tracked target changed directions.
gaijin has made some more liberal choices so that could be worked in as not needing that (manual lasering)
and 10 lasers a sec, would still be fine slightly worse version as normal tracking
also how does a camera track speed and distance without laser or radar info
Kind of hard to explain. Every air to ground missile with TV-tracker does the same thing :)
Best i can do on a short explanation is “compare pixels position to previous image and adjust aim angle to keep as many of the pixels in the center still in the center” . sort of. Works even better with IIR as the contrast between pixels will be greater.
Edit:
More info here: Contrast seeker - Wikipedia
either way a manual version on the 9040s 10/s automatic update on the lvkv
and add a slower manual version for a lot of ww2 spaas would also be a good idea since a lot of ww2+ spaa had a system to help aiming
and low tier spaa’s need all the help they can get
i think that would be a great addition to the game
