No, the CV9040 are still on MK.I chassis with some upgrades and with the original turrets with armor packages added on. the new ones are on completely different MK.III chassis with MK.IV turrets, there is almost nothing that is still the same other than brand name and general size/shape.

Probably because designing a vehicle for the game and getting all the info for it takes years. it was likely far into development well before the announcement for the Swedish procurement of MK.IIIC.
And one doesn’t exclude the other :) The Swedish bought version has a different Commander sight, APS system and cannon (and probably a few other things) than the one being added to the game.
So the Swedish version could easily be added in the same line (or even folder) as the MK.IV at a 0.3 higher BR or something.
Well, all CV90 are modular, you pick and choose parts for how you want it so there isn’t really a “version” of it in that sense. Just the specific configurations that each buyer has chosen.

Prototype means not finished yet. What BAE has is an already ready system where all the parts are integrated and work, so i don’t think that word fits either.
It’s more of a “What parts do you want? Okay, we can have mass production running in about a year” sort of deal.

Not really. if its done to the point “ready to order” it’s technically no longer a prototype. I don’t know what exactly to call it though. Can’t find a word for it.
“Demonstrator” is the word you’re probably searching for. Something fully functional, but only made to show what can be done.
Then you also have the testbed, A fully functioning base, with an experimental part being tried & tested.

If that is the case then the whole front should be red/impenetrable
Besides, the Strf9040C has this advertised level of protection and only weighs 28.5t, wheras the Mk.IV weighs 37t, 8.5t more

They state from 35 to 38 that the vehicle wont experience any changes to speed with the added weight. We can assume that the 3t is crew and max equipment load. Think it would be best to have the vehicle changed to 35t for balance if anything
