My gut feeling from personal experience in the swedish army tells me that the 50 Strf 9035s have tha main purpose of testing what we like / don’t like with the modern CV90 variants, with the Strf 9040Cs being sent to Ukraine being the perfect excuse to purchase them. In like 5 years I can promise you a major order on something akin to a CV90 Mk5 will be placed based on the experience with the Strf 9035.

Yep, but it is a real version of the MK.IV.
I personally don’t mind it, if it gets the airburst rounds, tracking and correct armor it might fit well at 10.3 instead of 10.7

Oh absolutely! it might even be quicker than 5 years since other countries already have used it and have direct exchanges about experiences with the vehicles between all users.
The discussion about which IFV and modell that will replace the current CV90 are in high gear, they are looking and discussing for the next mayor purchase 2030 and beyond, from my knowledge. It is likely to be an upgraded CV90 from the 4th generation to 5th and i think the main concern or debate is the type of main armament, I do hope they keep going for the 40mm but a newer one.
I think the biggest reason they went 40mm to begin with was that they had a lot of leftover canons laying around after the decommission of the towed Anti Air stations using them. Now if they choose 40mm again it will likely have to be newly manufactured ones and that increases cost by quite a bit compared to choosing already established supply lines of 35mm (that would also give interchangeability with a lot of NATO regarding ammo and spare parts). So 35mm is a very likely choice, but it wouldn’t be out of the question to have a couple of 50mm made for apc/ifv hunting instead of troop carrying.

Also many decal types are unrepresented. For instance: bridge weight markers and unit numbers
I am just tired of having to deal with tanks like the 2S38, that simply just sends you back to the hangar instantly. It unfortunately also sits at a lower BR than the CV90 MK.IV, and is much better overall.

The 9030 is over BRed, it should be like 8.7ish and thr current MK.IV 9030 should be 10.0 its worthless

and the 2S38 should be well above 11.7 at this point, because it would still perform overwhelmingly good even at the highest BR.
(Or preferrably not even ingame since it hasn’t even completed trials to enter service yet.)

The 40mm is amazing when it comes to raw firepower, range, accuracy and modularity but dear god the feed system is pure hell to work with since you run out quick and have to reverse into a safe position to refill it. Ammo capacity is also suprisingly good, but if you want to fit extra missiles as well then it might start to suffer. My guess is that it gets swapped to a 35/50 mm bushmaster due to the feed system alone. The 50 mm rounds are also quite small as it’s just a fat 35 mm round, but keeps the option of advanced fuzes due to the sheer size of the shell which was one of the driving forces behind picking the 40 mm in the 80s.

Idk i might stop playing this thing or just forget it ever existed since it actually useless lmao. Mobility is eh, like a fat CV90120 with worse armor and no spall liners, gun is useless so not even worth counting with missiles that dont work, imo this thing is 9.3 material as it stands, basically a worse QN506 somehow

Did we accept that we are not getting a flashy variant (bigger gun caliber, aps, and the fancy missile)? Or are we still working on getting that changed. Maybe we are pushing to get a new one for the next update even?
We’d like to have the CV9050 MK.IV trust me. Unfortunately theres nothing to report as we didn’t get that model. So for now we are focusing on reporting the current CV9030 MK.IV so that these problems dont occur if they add the later models. For now getting the ABM, tracking, atmor, and spall liners are the main goal. Additionally getting the name changed to the CV9030 MK.IV or any other name would help but until we know gaijin has plans to add the other MK.IV models thats still not going to be a focus. Again i have messaged and pinged Smin and other mods eith the inky mod to respond being Gunjob. So either the MK.IV isnt high on the list of things to be fixed or they generally do not care.

That’s a different variant of the MK.IV.
That is what so many get wrong, there isn’t just one MK.IV with different options, there are several version that then have options for addons. for example the turret gun, the specific turret for 30mm can also be change to 40mm but not the other two, and the 35mm can be changed to 50mm but not the other two. the 30/40mm turret doesn’t have the radar plates as a standard but the 35/50 does. etc, etc.
There are like 15 different base version of the MK.IV , but only like 5 or so might be worth to put in the game.

I would love to see the CV90 Mjölner 120mm mortar in game, it could be really fun and different to play compared to the others :P
It can’t be used in direct fire because of a protective plate in front of the barrels. It physically can’t shoot at an angle lower than around +8°.
I don’t know enough if the mortar variants, but is this the same for the AMOS version ? Or patria mounted systems ?

It’s a different system. AMOS was seen as too expensive so they developed a much simpler varaint which became the Grkpv 90 / Mjölner. AMOS can not only shoot at 0°, it even has a few degrees of gun depression that it can still shoot at.
