Custom Battle Rating for Aircraft: More Freedom For Your Vehicles!

Same for ground, for instance:

Leopard 2A4:

DM23- 11.0 (as it was in the 1980s)
DM33- 11.3 (as it was in the 1990s)
DM53- 11.7 (as it has been since the 2000s)

I just realised this basically confirms next gen IR missiles for air battles

Yeah. CR2s with only L26 at like 11.3

Ooooh.

LMM martlets cant be denied either now for the Stormer. Athought I think its BR wouldnt change with them

Would definitely boost some lineup effectiveness, like japan top tier as i get an extra tkx with TYPE 10 dart since theyre functionally identical elsewhere

And 3 extra merkavas with M338… so on and so forth

Not fighting ERA slop soviet tanks with only stock HEAT FS? sounds like a dream

Most important question, what will be the H145M BRA without Spikes

Providing the soviet slop wasnt 2-3 BRs lower when stock, because “reasons”

You say here, air realistic for the j22’s br’s?

I am assuming this is a typo, since there is no way some CAS weaponary should push the plane upto 11.0 in the game mode thats primarily about dogfighting and killing other planes surely?

For ground RB I can 100% understand this but for Air RB it simply makes little sense, none of the outlined guided CAS weaponary is very good for killing planes.

Some clarification would be nice if you could.

Im gunna assume so, like the Wildcat

This is great! Although, may I ask if you can set a preset that you can easily select in the modification page? Or do I have to check and uncheck each module each time I want to set the plane BR? Anyway, great work into the impressive direction! Please make sure that there are enough planners to adjust every plane and weapon BR (^^")

Probably like 10.7

I hope this new custom BR system will also be used as an opportunity to reconsider the equipment restrictions imposed on aircraft simply because they are designated as “Early” variants.

The F-14A Early is a good example of this.

Currently, the F-14A Early in War Thunder is essentially restricted to a late-1970s configuration, without the AN/AXX-1 TCS, and with the AN/ALR-45/50 RWR, AIM-9L, AIM-7F, and AIM-54A.

However, the real F-14A continued to receive upgrades throughout its service life. During the 1980s, the TCS was introduced, ECM equipment was improved, and newer air-to-air missiles such as the AIM-9M, AIM-7M, and AIM-54C became available.

Importantly, the F-14A retained its AN/ALR-45/50 RWR through 1997. Despite receiving various improvements, it had not yet undergone the more extensive modernization associated with later configurations introduced from 1998 onward.

Those later upgrades, including the AN/ALR-67 RWR, BOL countermeasure dispensers, and expanded air-to-ground capabilities, represent a much more substantial change in equipment and operational capability. I believe these late-service F-14A configurations would be better represented as a separate aircraft.

With the introduction of custom BRs, however, I think it would be reasonable to expand the period and range of configurations represented by the existing F-14A Early.

Rather than limiting the “Early” designation to its current late-1970s configuration, it could cover the F-14A’s development through the mid-1980s and up to 1997, before the more extensive modernization programs of the late 1990s.

This would allow the same in-game aircraft to represent several historically accurate configurations, ranging from the original early version to later configurations equipped with the TCS, improved ECM equipment, and newer air-to-air missiles, while retaining the AN/ALR-45/50 RWR.

The custom BR system would make this possible without sacrificing the existing early configuration. Players could continue using the original equipment at its current BR, while more advanced configurations could be assigned higher BRs where necessary.

Furthermore, I hope this approach will not be limited to the F-14A. There are other aircraft in War Thunder whose equipment is restricted based on a narrowly defined service period or an “Early” designation, even though the same variant historically operated with more advanced weapons and equipment.

Previously, such restrictions may have been justified by concerns about game balance. However, with the introduction of custom BRs, there is now an opportunity to expand the range of historically accurate configurations available to existing aircraft without compromising balance.

I hope Gaijin will use this opportunity not only to introduce multiple BR options, but also to reconsider how narrowly the historical configurations of existing vehicles are defined.

The introduction of custom BRs should allow the historical scope of existing aircraft to be expanded, rather than keeping them permanently restricted to a single configuration from a specific year.

Stay focused brothers. This is a carefully posted psyop meant to distract us from the hidden video count in the War Thunder YT Trailers playlist going from 2 to 3.

We must stay focused.

(Good news nonetheless)

What will this entail for vehicle variants, like the AH-64D and AH-64E? Both variants could be made almost identical by removing the IRDCM and AGM-179s. Does this mean in the future we might not get certain variants of vehicles because they could be made functionally redundant through variable BRs?

my hipothesis is like this

if your armament has 14,0 like example
your plane will have BR shown 14,0
soo you need check it which one yours loadout is 14,0

from original br
you can correct me if iam missed or wrong

bison does not have LGB’s
it has TV guided KAB’s
neither it has RVV AE

so that means it gets them next update, interesting, this update is shaping up to be humongus
