Hey guys, today I"d like to suggest the ČSR inscription decal as a way to comemorate the violent Prague uprising, in which Czech Prague residents rose up against its German occupiers near the end of the 2nd World War.
During this uprising the Czech rebels were able to capture a few German armoured vehicles and tanks, notably the Jagdpanzer 38 (t) about 3-8 in an unfinished state lacking the gun, so they had to arm them with captured machine guns in the gun mantlet, a few Sdkfz. 250/251 halftracks , a couple French AMR35 and Hotchkiss H39 and atleast one Stug III aided by the Vlasov Army, the Russian collaborationist army., which sided with them. To avoid friendly fire the captured tanks were painted over with Czechoslovak flags, Czech anti-Nazi slogans or simply with the ČSR acronym which stands for Československá republika (Czechoslovak republic).
The rebellion lasted pretty short due to the agreement of a ceasefire between the Czech rebels and Wehrmacht allowing them to retreat from the city with some Waffen-SS units refusing to obey. These were quickly overwhelmed by the arrival of the overwhelmingly large Red Army in the nearly liberated Prague with barely any casualties on May 9th 1945.
