Neither do I think skill is a factor in using a FnF SPAA effectively, its all about being aware of your surroundings and knowing when and how to engage

The CS/SA5’s range is pathetic. China has always had bad SPAAs for the higher tiers. If gaijin wants to add IRIS and Buk and SAMP/T then I think that other nations should get some sort of equivalent. The CS/SA5 obviously cannot compete with this.

as of what i’ve found it’s not supposed to lmao.

main purpose is munition, drone, and heli interception having a 10km effective range against subsonic and 8km against supersonic.

we are quite literally using something not meant to deal with what we have ingame.

ffs either raise the br of the more capable aa or drop the sa5 down to 11.7

the CS/SA5 is fine the way it is, tho i would like its apds rounds
also has a advantage towards helis with DIRCM unlike other SAM systems

Tested the AH-64E against the CS/SA5, even if he moves slightly i get a radar lock and the missile will kill it despite having and ir jammer, but once its stationary you cant get a radar lock but only IR lock but as you know its useless
slightly more range and its apds rounds wouldnt be bad, other than that im happy with it

FB10A’s struggles to hit any jets that can pull more than 7G’s, meanwhile Strela and TY90 creates 4-5km death zone, so tell me how come its fine when missiles cant even reach more than 10km and it takes forever to reach there while cant even pull 20G’s nor hit maneuvering target?

Then I wonder why did they even add it in the first place. There is plenty of other Chinese air defenses to be added

A 30mm PTFP round does not damage the “barrel” module.

Per the Dev server, the CS/SA5 has gotten a change in how the ir seeker is handled.

Instead of having the ir seeker slaved to the current locked target, it will now allways follow the mouse cursor until it gets a ir lock.

This fixed one of the major bugs with this spaa, which was that if you had a missile that you were activly datalinking to a target, you could switch radar targets, but you could not shoot to the new target only to the old one, until the datalink was terminated.

Update:

for a vehicle released in may, it still has way too many problems.

Radar:

  1. The Search radar is pure dogs#it, pgz09 has a better search radar by far.
  2. The TWS radar does not have nctr, how gajin could possibly release a AESA radar without nctr i have no clue in my mind how.
  3. Current TWS radars on spaa cant be used without having a active lock. this makes no sense, one of the reasons why you want a tracking radar that can also search, is for you know searching? cant expect the dedicated search radar to pick up incoming missiles. ( dont get me started on the difficulty behind just tracking a target the search radar has pinged )

Gun:

  1. Dont think a ciws style gun should be so inacurate, its more like a shotgun.
  2. Ahead ammo is poorly implemented ( true for all ahead in game tho )

Missile:

  1. Missile has really poor g turning, not sure if its true to real life or not
  2. This missile faces the same problem as the iris-t and elde, one of the reasons why you want datalink is so that stuff like flares and dircm should not work. Abnormal heat signatures should put all modern missiles into dl or iog mode only, ( example is the aim9m ) its one of the reasons why dircm is advertised as defense against manpads and not larger or modern type of missiles.

Gun is actually quite inaccurate irl if you have ever seen it shoot at target drones, and its meant to be like so to spread ahead around incoming drone swarm(s)
