Hello, I’d like to suggest a vehicle whose service with Canada is unknown due to its short time and little use.

History:
On the 30th of June in 1941, the 1st Canadian Army Brigade would arrive in the UK. This would occur due to the request of Lieutenant-General A.G.L. McNaughton, who had encouraged a rapid deployment of the 1st Canadian Army Tank Brigade as soon as possible. The Brigade was meant to be equipped with Canadian-built Valentine tanks, but due to delays in production, McNaughton had to send out to persuade the British War Office to lend tanks to the 1st Canadian Army Tank Brigade, until the loaned tanks could be replaced with Canadian production. Well, the majority of the equipment would be made up of Infantry Tanks, but the headquarters would be entitled to four cruiser tanks. This would lead to two of the British army’s new cruiser tank, the Covenanter, being issued to the Headquarters on July 10th, 1941. Although by December of 1941, when recalls for the model(Covenanter I) started, we remained with the Canadian tank brigade until April of 1942. In order to replace them, the 1st Canadian Tank Brigade would receive some newly built Covenanter IVs, which would be built to Covenanter III standards but with even more cooling systems. This would occur on the 29th and 30th of April 1942. They would stay in service from that day until March of 1943, with only a brief time in February of 1943, when one of them had to see the workshops for repairs. It would be the 19th of March 1943 that the Canadian army overseas would decide to be re-equipped with the Canadian-built Ram tank.

Is it me or do these guys look like germans ?

bait used to be believable

I see Reichsadler or least I believe to see them. The uniform looks black. If these are not germans what uniform is that ?

I never seen such beret on any german uniform.

its a uniform made to look german but isnt one as far as i know. The beret is also very wrong

that photo is from when that tank and crew took part in the filming of a training movie in how to deal with tanks.

Covenanters themselves never saw combat. It cant be claimed as a captured tank for german tree

heres the film https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x557wed

called the M1934 Schutzmütze

but this is the first time im seeing it lol

There´s allways a first time.

They had them in the early years. Looks quite like the ones in that picture. I can even see the Totenkopf on the Kragenspiegel.

yes just before you posted it i did find it too lol.

nonetheless as Caer pointed out, no Covenanter ever saw combat, so logically they couldnt be captured.

Geez, relax dude. Nothing was claimed. Where did I write something about a captured tank for the german tree ?

@Der_Preusse

should have clairified. they way its being worn is how british general service caps are worn, such a dress regulation error would only really happen from the headress being worn by british troops

Ok, I didn´t say anything about being captured. I just wondered why the are guys in german looking uniforms on the picture.

+1 it’s the thing that started the tradition of starting British tanks with Cs

Crusander, Churchill, Centurion, and Challenger for example
