Crew field repair not working?

im fairly new to the game and but as i can se the crew field repairs all works together for the max repairtime of the tank? im down to a max repairtime of 33sek but still get 40-41sek repairs ingame. am i missing something? doesn’t make sense to uppgrade the field repair so much if it doesn’t help

Is your whole crew alive?

didnt check that, if say my gunner dies, does he’s repairtime dont count then?

Dead crew increase time to repair as they cannot help, yes.

Crew performance decreases even before dying, altho not sure if that impacts repair speeds - but an injured gunner will traverse the turret more slowly for instance.
