An update about two months ago has prevented me from playing War Thunder. The update will crash after entering full screen mode which made collecting this information more challenging than normal.

I am going to flood this message with information as the cause is not clear and I gather from other posts that more than a few other people are having the same issue.

(I have removed full screen to be able to collect the following screen shots.)

Bump to this. I’m getting the exact same error on my desktop system that has totally different spec.

Have tried everything to get it working.

Have you tried this. When you start the game, before it can really load anything press the windows key so it brings up the windows start menu. Mine will load and go in to the hanger then.

But the moment I click on the game to select it. It crashes and I get that exact error.

It’s been months now and frankly I have given up on the Devs to help or fix it. Worked for 10 years but its just broken now on this PC. Tried different graphics card diver versions as as I had to because of a hard disk it even had a clean windows and WT install from scratch. Tried every suggestion I could find.

None of it made any difference. It simply wont run.

I haven’t had this specific error but I did just troubleshoot a similar one.

I do use the Steam version but my specs are a bit higher. I have always had my game on an external drive that hadn’t failed me thus far, but some things needed fixing or attention after I transferred it to a new PC that I had just built.

Although it worked fine for about a week, my game started crashing briefly after opening it up (sometimes it didn’t even start but Steam still said it was running) and my display would break, so I’d have to completely shutdown my PC. Switching the PSU off and on became a routine for me then. It did this no matter what driver or graphics settings I used. Using a DDU didn’t help, either.

But today I tried to just reinstall the game out of desperation. Now it works almost flawlessly, so if you haven’t tried that yet, there’s no reason not to.

In any case, try all of the simplest and easy solutions first before you try more complex and harder solutions. I wasted so much time and effort just because I neglected to try reinstalling the game, which took less than 15 minutes.

And if that doesn’t work, there’s plenty of other methods you can find online.

Im having the exact same errors. Started out of nowhere. Since then i even switched my entire setup but the error still remains. Even worse, it crashes mor freqently now. I also reinstalled everything and even reinstalled my pc but after that it works for like 3 matches and then its starts crashing again. I literally tried so many “bug fixes” but nothing seems to work.

i also got this problem but gaijin couldnt help me with it or other people i think gaijin has to look to this problem

Since Today i have the same Problem, on Game in a Fight, Game Freeze and Crasht…

Works again= Download and Install new Nvidia Driver!
