With how Gaijin monetization model center around player frustratrion, you can just chalk the fact that you can’t test drive those vehicles as the “downside”. because let’s be real, even after test drive, some vehicle still gives you buyer remorse. like, HEAVY buyer remorse.
I still haven’t recovered from that J-7D purchase. I mastered that thing, could get aces on a whim, know how to use GSh-23 in duel, makes a lot of SL from it.
And I still reel at the thought of me buying that thing back in 2023 when Mirage, Draken, Junk Phantom, Turkish 104, 4EJ ADTW was on sale. Horrible as they were the tree was much more developed later down the line.
Maybe that much will be the downside of buying that outright vs buying outright premium. That is if Gaijin even cares about premium at all. if not there’s possibility that they can use this model as their “premium vehicle” monetization model while moving ALL premium vehicle (not event) to TT later down the line while giving plane that past buyer has bought some more bonus to compensate for the purchase.
There’s a difference to making just enough to buy/crew the vehicles, and enough to do that and expert crews, so I’m fully in support of SL talismans and the like

Sounds like you’re the one suffering. I don’t want TT vehicles to be able to grind out entire trees. I don’t like people just sitting in a high tier premium and grinding out the whole tree. Try using the TT vehicles at each BR, each rank.

Let’s be real here. there’s not enough gameplay variance to justify grinding rank 3-6 anymore. all the fun in that tier has been sucked out by the fact that all of that is just a train of monotony until the introduction of radar missile with working radar at 11.3. On tank it’s even worse with HE Howitzer creeping up to 4.0 range and 6.0 upwards vehicle that can be categorized as oversized M41, some amount of oversized IS-2 or Wirbelwind with working gun and method to lead the target.
And the way you make your point kinda makes it sounds like you don’t want to play top tier either so why even bother? Again, the way premium being played in GRB right now is still going on whether this Idea exist or not. that’s on Gaijin for making top tier premium comes with free respawn/comes in a pack of 3. Not my responsibility.
lol, you’re playing a grind based game. It’s all part of it. It’s a core element of the game. So no, I’m not about making that grind as easy as it can be. The grind is easy enough as it is.

It’s a generational thing, i guess. You guys want instant gratification. I grew up with games like Navyfield. This game has been out since 2012. It’s not going anywhere. It doesn’t matter how busy your life is. Doesn’t matter if you’re studying, working, bogged down with other hobbies. If the grind takes you years, so be it. All part of the fun. The more time you lot spend making topics like these the less time you’re working on the grind. Anyway, the subject bores me, so I’m going to go play some of this game we all love.

This great standard-to-premium vehicle conversion feature already exists in War Thunder Mobile, I would love to be able to access it for GE in the desktop version.
