You’re right, on some maps the mines would be very dense in proportion to the map size. My opinion would be to implement them, but only on large maps like the Polish countryside. Besides, I think they can be deactivated in many ways, and they won’t be invisible.
Id still be rather apprehensive, because they would clip underground, they would be hidden in bushes, etc etc.
They would either be really powerful or kinda useless and I dont see any inbetween.
There isn’t a thing you can do with mines that wouldn’t end up making them annoying as hell.
People will want them removed after a week
tbh i would like this along with the addition of grenade copters and kamikaze drones for high tier
specially if engineering vehicles could perform these tasks:
- scattering ammo boxes
- scattering spare parts
- ability to plant mines (AP, AT, Time delayed and remote control)
- ability to create dragon tooth
- ability to create barbed wire
- ability to retrieve and reuse Improvised explosive device (taken from unexploded air bombs and adding air bombs to have a slim % of becoming one of these which can be retrieved with supply vehicles and relocated elsewhere)
- having the ability to disarm these objects and repairing vehicles faster than regularly
this would add more tension, immersion and realism into the game in my opinion and make way for different playstyle if things such as supply trucks, recovery tanks, mineraumer, engineering vehicles were added into the game

for example seeing a rocket mine clearing vehicle such as UR-77 Meteorit in higher tiers would be quite spectacular
Now I realize it would be perfect, especially in infantry mode; with the personal mines it would be more tense, chaotic, and even fun
Could work with infantry
Not normal game modes though
If WT maps were 20x the size, sure.
+1 for me would FINALLY give gajin a reason to add mineclearing vehicles to the game to like those uniqe shermans that can also still fire their gun
if maps were 20x and this was implemented as in real life then you would have kilometers and kilometers of minefield haha
Would be interesting because then we would get to see vehicles like this, BUT first we would need much bigger maps!
precisely.
They would fit pretty well in my Suggestion game mode Here: Combined Arms Enduring Confrontation, because players aren’t limited to pushing one-or-three points within a 3.75km2 pocket.
We’d still need to see if Gaijin can manage to do something other than crappy COD TDM maps and modes though.
