Could USA get a SU-27 as an event vehicle?

Just what we need more copy paste slop

ain’t that the purpose of a premium vehicule? (beside giving money to gaijin, to let them making Q&A that everyone rage baits on, of course)

I would be down for it. After all, pretty much every single other nation has US vehicles, what’s the difference? Even URSS has B25 and other stuff.

Nations don’t have American military service vehicles.
They have their country’s service vehicles.

So unless you can prove that there’s a United States Air Force wing using Su-27s, it’s not happening.

Like this? Directly from the US government?

“The jet’s primary mission is advanced pilot training, but it has all the combat capability of other Su-27s.”

Test pilots and private aggressor companies aren’t the same as American air wings.

You’re saying that like gaijin cares about rules and follows some strict pattern of what is added and what isn’t.

They don’t. Hey don’t feel bad, we got the flapjack with guns out of it!
Pretty much every prototype in the US doesn’t fall under a “American Air Wing” and is a private company plane with test pilots.

Considering nearly the entire U.S. tech tree is already in other nations, I don’t see why not.

Unlikely, since the United States already has a fleshed-out air tree. However, it is possible for it to be added. And for those saying this hole shouldn’t be opened, it’s already been opened, as there are captured Shermans, Tigers, Churchills, KVs, and so on. It wouldn’t matter, especially given that if the US were to get an Su-27, it would most likely be very limited in its armament.

I called bullshit on the russian and chinese addition coping threads, so i’m going to do the same here.

One cannot complain about their vehicles getting handed around while asking for/supporting the addition of distinct foreign designs in their own tree.

The rules of what’s added haven’t been broken.
So yes, they do have strict rules they follow. This is well known.

Prototypes are irrelevant to Su-27s. Su-27s aren’t prototypes, thus is a false equivalence fallacy.

Edit:
Service vehicles.
Completed production vehicles.
Incomplete production vehicles. [Minimum for ships.]
Trialed vehicles.
Combat prototypes.
Incomplete prototypes. [Minimum for aircraft and ground vehicles.]
These are the categories Gaijin considers.

I personally would only support it if it were gap filler or a modified variant of said vehicle but I agree with the statement

Do not forget captured vehicles
Non-trialed but considered vehicles (rare case for trees that lack equipment, Japanese F-16J)
There is no general rule Gaijin sticks to other than that a vehicle is added to fill areas in which a tree is lacking.

Yeah if there was some good history or something actually unique about it then sure, it would make for a cool event vehicle.

But most of the US side of these additions come from the whole “Let’s see what we’ve been scared of” phase where they brought tons of soviet vehicles after the cold war to assess them. Which is pretty crappy grounds for addition to war thunder imo

This would absolutely suck bro, you would have no ground armaments and is it confirmed that Belarus also gave R-73s and R-27s? I mean id support it if it were added as a niche gunfighter with just R-73s

The captured vehicles in-game were also used by said military forces.
They weren’t captured then put in storage.

Could that rule change in the future? Sure, but for now it hasn’t.

Neither was the Swedish tiger really used in military forces. The US has tested MiG-21s, Mi-24s, PT-76s, T-50, etc, etc in the same way as the Swedish tiger. But the US does not need any of that because it has a solid lineup in those areas.

Gaijin’s rules for adding things are no longer what people think. Weapons and equipment aren’t added for historical reasons anymore, but for balance. That is most likely why we won’t ever see Russian equipment in the US tree.

why even have tech trees

A good way to copy paste the same vehicles for over 5 times. Cheaper for them too

I wouldn’t mind but I know people hate that kind of stuff, + it would make sim even more annoying
