With many other planes getting AESA upgrade (f15c golden eagle, eurofighter, rafael, gripen etc) i was wondering if it would be possible for the f15e strike eagle to get an AESA radar upgrade? As im not very familiar with the technical capabilities of the f15e.

Gaijin is taking the long road as indicated by them teasing the f16xl and adding the f15ge. Got to wait till late 2026-early2027 to see the f15ex.
How would the f15ex fare against the new eurofighters and su30sm2? I’m worried that they - yet again - will add a DoA top tier for the US lol.

Typhoons will beat the f15ex in BVR since they got a better thrust/weight. F15ex will be like a better f15ge as a missile bus. Su30sm2 will beat both in radar with the 120 degree arc. Typhoons have 90-100 degrees. F15ex sources are hard to come but if Gaijin goes for a typical aesa then only 60-70. But for balance should give them 90. Overall, kinda DoA, but not as bad as the super hornet is right now.

Considering it’s likely we see the F-22 by the end of year '26, I doubt we’ll get the EX. Also, the XL is worse than the C-50 in a few ways

I think we won’t get to 5th gen by 2026. Could be possible, its like 50/50. I think we will get upgraded missiles and add variants like the f16xl and f15ex. Typhoons could get older variants and russia still needs the su35. Gaijin is purposely putting america down cause once the raptor comes, its over. Then all the other nations will start complaining since the table is flipped. They’re setting it up so other nations have a good 4.5 gen to compete somewhat.
I was assuming the GE129s which will give it a thrust/weight of 0.93 compared to typhoon’s 1.15.

All the F15ex golden eagle II use the 129s. The 132’s for f16 block 60.

I think Gaijin will add only f22 and su57 first, then add f35 for everyone later.
Well Gaijin only denied 5th gen aircraft specifically for the first half of 2026, so I absolutely wouldn’t be suprised if we see the first of them in december.
As long as they fix aim120s and we get better missiles like meteors before then, I think 5th gen will be a great christmas present compared to the terminator shithole we have right now.

It’s kind of sad, because besides them money farming by releasing the BMPT way too low it’s a pretty solid update imo. Although just as buggy as always (the NASAMS is an absolute pain to play).
