Is there a way to set a radio key 9 or is that not a thing as when on the multi function menu it uses the same as the radio controls as radio messages but as I re-binded mine to 1-8 I cant press “More” to go to the next page of multi function menu options. (I only see 1-8 on the controls no “More” option nor 9 option.
This is what I mean below with the “More” button.
you should be able to click the more button if you’re on a mouse and keyboard
This could be a reportable bug if the 9 key/command isn’t rebindable yet 1-8 are.
Something very easily overlooked in development.
Yea I managed figure that out thanks, Any idea if there is a shortcut though?? If not its fine just confused me at first not being able change pages as I needed hold “ALT” to use the mouse.
Its a little weird as from what I can see after looking a little more you have the communication options which use 1-8 but the Multi-function menu also uses those same commands from what I can see meaning 1-8, the thing is there is obviously more options such as “More” and while true you can use the mouse or gamepad for them to if you only use the keys like I normally do It can be a little iffy, because yes it goes to 7 if you dont use the “More” option but if you do go past that it goes up to 9 which to be fair is already set to 9 or whatever key you have set to that but from what I can see you cant re-bind or delete 9 from that option as like I said it only goes to 8 on the controls for radio messages and they use the same.
Would you say its worth reporting or putting a suggestion of having the 2 menu’s as seperate keys though?? as like I said both the multi-function menu and the team/squad commmunication menu all use 1-8 for the commands, (8-9 if you go past the first page), You can see what I mean below btw, these are the ones used for both menu’s other than if you already have a key set to that such as the IRST then it will also set that to the same key so lets say I wanted to turn IRST on/off It would have “9” on the multi-function menu but also lets say “Alt +I”
Be sure you understand how add and replace work when you do use them.
Replace, removes that key from ALL controls it’s bound to ‘anywhere’. Add, adds the key, and retains all the other uses. You can stack controls, and make them use one key for multiples. B is a good example of this, as it’s not listed in the controls until you change the control difficulty mode, and it’s also bound to 2 controls, brake left, brake right. Whilst throttling down does give a brake sign, it’s only doing 25% pressure or something, where pushing b is 100% brake ‘on’.
With 9 not being shown, it definitely should, which is why I’d class that as a bug, because it’s more an oversight to not have 9 or even 0 able to be rebound. And if 0 can be rebound and is somewhere, then further to why not 9.
I know how the “Add” and “Replace” work btw thats a little why I asked as obviously more stuff might come in the future for the Multi-function menu but keeping them as 1-9 makes sence tbf just flew over my head a little but yea like I said before those are the controls you can have which are for both menu’s, so yea 1-8 is all you got there is no 9-0 so on but they are already pre-set in the multi-function menu just cant change

I’d wonder if they are listed in the controls file, or if 0 is listed elsewhere as well.
(I’ve looked through the more difficult options, and nothing is listed that would apply when it’s toggled so definitely missing)
If you go in to “controls” under “common” its the “Voice Messages” those are the ones it uses if you press to set anything to 9 or 0 anywhere there it lets you with none of the voice messages conflicting although any key you have set to a certain thing such as “Alt + 1” or something like that would show in there so you could use that key but at that point is there any point in the Multi-Function menu using keys 1-8 and even if not and you did want your own key there and to get rid of number 1 you cant as that would disable it on the Team/squad radio message to, thats why it seems a bit iffy with me because it uses 1-8 like I said same as the radio keys but if you want to say un-bind the multi-function key from lets say 1 and set it to F It would set both the multi-function controls and the radio key number 1 to F if you get what I mean?
If you look below you can see what I mean by the F thing as because both the multi-function and the squad menu both are set to the same keys if that number 1 is set to F then the number 1 on the group would be to(By number 1 I mean the first option)
Thats what I was meaning about having them seperate earlier sorry I didnt mean having the keys seperate to to say but the keybinds seperate as there linked you have what ever is set to 1 in both command menu’s
I may have confused you with my response being so wide ranging, but I agree with you.
The keybind commands, not being present for the MFM or the Radio comms, and thus the 9 and 0 keys not being able to be rebound is something that should be fixed.
I mean there there they just use the Voice messages :p, but yea I was going to put something up along the lines of having the MFM(god thats so much easier say lol) and the radio commands say both under common but they would have their own category such as having the Voice messages I mentioned for the squad/team chat like usual but lets say underneath that a sub category of MFM so you can still re-bind your keys seperate if you know what I mean?? might help people understand to because as I was putting it up on the bug reports site there was quite a few people on similar questions not knowing how to re-bind the MFM keys as there under the voice commands
Was kinda my point from the start just bad at explaining sorry :p, Im not against having 2 things as the same key as even I do that it was just not being able to set the 2 keybindings seperately is all or not even having MFM at all in controls at all so unless you know what ya doing you cant even change the binding :((
