Constantly being Up Tier BR rating

Doesn’t work. If I’m playing e.g. 8.0 and get FULL uptiers to 9.0 games 90% of the time, if you change nation to play a 8.7 or a 9.0 lineup, one would assume you would get 90% down-tiers, but nope… you still get 9.7 or 10.0 games 75% of the time.

Who exactly is it getting all these down-tiers…? Do some people bribe the Gaijin staff to get 90% down-tiers or something?

Why is it not 25% of the time split between the 4 possible BR brackets and the matchmaker keeps track of how many you’ve had to try to balance it out?

This current system is just super frustrating how there are just some br black holes.

Didn’t say change your nation - said change your BR. Changing nation as well as BR will have “unintended” effects on who is playing who in addition to the effects of changing BR.

all the people who you are being uptiered against… you see them every game

No - we pay solely to piss you off :)

Being up tiered is a not fun one little bit. All my British and German tanks are Rank 5. I do not have any rank 6 tanks in my line up at all because i’m researching a minimum of 3 before I go in to rank 6 battles.

Although all my tanks are in rank 5, I am constantly being killed by tanks that, when I look for them in the tech trees, I find they are in rank 6.

Like… WTF…

Why am I fighting Rank 6 tanks when I only have rank 5 ???

Because rank has nothing to do with match making - only BR.

I’m not sure you quite understand what I am getting at and what I am objecting to.

I mean, with my German and British rank 5 line ups, there are no overlaps in BR between rank 5 and rank 6.

The highest Rank 5 tank is BR 8.0. Rank 6 STARTS at 8.3 minimum. That means straight away that I am trying to fight superior vehicles, whether it be armour, range, ammunition, etc. It’s like putting a medium weight fighter up against a heavy weight fighter.

Uptiering is getting beyond a joke IMO.

Even when full uptiered, there are ALWAYS tanks in the enemy team that are your BR…and lots of tanks that will only be 0.3 higher. Only a max of 4 will be a full +1 uptier…
SO…avoid these 4…and look for the other 12…most of them are killable!

I KNOW there are maps and situations where this is harder to do…but in MOST CASES where you are uptiered you can let the big boys in your team handle the enemy big boys…and look for something “your size”.

And BTW…there are few things more rewarding in WT than killing an enemy that is +1BR (or more) over you…
It was part of war to have to fight stronger enemies…and it is actually not so frequent as some keep claiming…

I sincerely no longer check the match BR…i look for targets and if something seems too strong i usually go around it and look for something else OR i try to see if i can get a good shot if the map/distance seem doable. I fail more than i succeed for sure…but it is lots of fun…

This has happened to me as well. I kept track for 2-3 weeks and found I had a full uptier 45% of the time (should be closer to 25% based on 4 brackets within a battle). And it’s even worse for some countries that can’t field 3 vehicles at your max BR - so your 2nd and 3rd best tank are at even more disadvantage.

It’s already bad enough with tanks like Tiger II facing post-WWII vehicles such as light tanks with much faster firing guns than can pen THEIR UPPER GLACIS. Now they have to regularly deal with tanks like Leopard I at 8.0 that is way more mobile, has better optics, and can easily pen the front plate of the T2 with a gun that has better reload.

They need to adjust matchmaker so it is a MAXIMUM of +1 BR, not a DEFAULT of +1 BR. Can’t recall any battle where there wasn’t a full BR spread from top to bottom.

You are complaining about TIER and then comparing BR’s - so you do know what I am talking about but haven’t quite realised it yet.

As is the case in all games where there are different BR’s - the higher BR’s are better vehicles/ships/planes - that’s the way it works.

It was never a joke - it has always been the game - you’ve done nearly 6000 games - time you got used to it.

Specifically, it’s not the uptier itself that irritates me, but when the enemy’s uptier is marshals with thousands of battles and on my team there are newbies with stock vehicles. Which also often leave, having lost 2-3 planes. And with a high probability this is a deliberate loss.

Yes, sometimes you can knock down +1BR, but does this give you significantly more RP? I always forget to look. The “reward” in SL for this is inappropriately low, it’s not worth it.

It’s strange that WT still doesn’t have a paid option “Not to meet players with a skill higher than yourself.” Almost everything is sold for GE, what’s stopping you from doing this?

Since GJ didn’t create a normal system for rating players, so that beginners would play with beginners and pros with their own kind, without interfering with each other in any way.
