Hey if Greece and Israel can be together, i guess anything goes.
For the same reason that Czech Republic is on the Eastern European tech tree; Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Israel is on the Mediterranean tech tree; Belarus and Russia existing in a separated plain of reality—terrible research on the matter.

This is because the 2 actually cooperate quite a bit a Greece uses quite a few equipment of Israeli origin and iirc is planning to get even more.
Again what about Ireland, Switzerland, Austria and Belarus? What about every other country not one this map?
Most of these compound trees run into the issue of having so many vehicles, there isn’t enough room on the tech tree to accommodate them with current line limits.
