How many are famous enough to be a good DCT tho?
Famous is a very subjective word, I didn’t hear about KV-7 for example and encountered Pancake only probably a few times on the forum, but they were in DCT event, anyway, they can be less known than some American or Soviet vehicles outside of Italian community, but War Thunder is a good opportunity to make them more popular.
For example, how many people have ever heard about Italian R3 before War Thunder?

I wonder, how these installations will work, especially between submerged and surfaced.
PS would be wonderful if every nation gets at least one submarine upon the introduction of them, but that would be a miracle.

forgot that was a DCT. was an odd one as it had its onw LTM too, wasnt a traditional DCT to say the least, then again when was the last time russia didnt get special treatment?
ive seen things about the pancake for years and not just on forum. Admittedly a fair chunk was from people bashing World of Warplanes not realising its actually a real plane but it still is quite legendary for being the plane that made flying saucers so big in american pop culture in the late 1940s.
The other two DCTs were the Sturmtiger and TOG 2 which are hugely well known vehicles in and out of the gaming space nowadays just like pancake is.
After the success of NE, i can imagine they may make this years DCT a nuclear bomber to celebrate the renaissance for air battles the mode ended up being, something along the lines of a V bomber or maybe even the B-47.
Perhaps the M-345 this update?

Unless the DCT event is a nuclear bomber variant or an Interesting WW2 CAS plane then it will be DOA, imo it should be a tank as they are far better event wise as there are different ways to play tanks and have far better choice compared to a plane with maybe different…engines or wing structures…
not being a vulcan or something doesnt garantee its DOA. DCT has been something very intresting every single time, they havent missed each time so far, doubt they will this time either
saying this like sturmtiger and KV7 werent rather crappy casemates made on a pre-existing hull lol.

I can confidently say the XF5U has not been seen as nearly as much as the other DCT vehicles sturmtiger has a 38cm howitzer who doesnt want that and KV 7 as much as i didnt expect it, it has 3 guns both have unique game styles, compared to planes that litteraly just turn in circles until one out turns the other in a ww2 setting.
Im not saying a plane should’nt be the DCT but they gonna need to pull something from deep within for it to be worth it.
It’s a cool plane that is off meta. Not every DCT needs to provide a new way to kerb stomp lobbies, fun and whimsy is allowed you know

A-5 or B-58 are the only good DCT bombers, B-47 could work as a TT bomber better than event

I’ll quote a comment I made over in the predictions thread:
The most wacky/strange/unique examples from among such candidates were chosen from the Big Four nations because these nations have many such options. However, given that the direction of DCT, as I understand it, seems to be granting a long time wish of each nation before repeating nations (hence the assumption of no repeated nations), then I believe it is possible that the wacky/memorable requirement is secondary to the “requested for a long time” requirement.
On this basis, I believe that for nations without something as memorable or unique as the XF5U-1 or the Sturmtiger (since, truly, such vehicles are difficult to come by outside of the Big Four), a DCT candidate will still be found in the form of a unique prototype/limited production vehicle that has been long-requested by the nation’s players. This reasoning is why I still hold to my prediction of the Kawasaki Ki-64 as Japan’s most likely DCT candidate, since it is by far Japan’s most highly-requested prototype (except the O-I, which, while an arguably better DCT option, was hard-denied). I also predict it as the most likely option for this year overall, assuming no repeated nations, as the event schedule surrounding DCT suggests it will be an aircraft.

Imo the XF5U was a poor choice, cant be that fun when they were targeted every game in arb and since they bled speed like crazy when they turn they were free kills
I see similar kinds of reactions to the pancake as i do to the tog in games, no idea where youre getting that from.
not quite how skilled prop battles go but sure go off. I know people keep trying to turnfight the spitfire/zero but thats not all there is to it

Unique plane when no other nation has something close to similar and was highly requested for about a decade. Idkkkk seems perfect for it.

I just hope vulcan doesnt suffer the same fate as the bear or that model of buff. such vehicles deserve to better than being unobtainable relics of an old event
