I was just looking if anybody already suggested it here.

These are limited time event vehicles.
Which my answer was reffering too?
Unless you meant researchable tree vehicles? In which case there have also been plenty of British additions:
Hawk T1A
Hawk T1A (FRP)
HMS Lion
Wildcat HMA.2
Washington B.Mk.I
Welkin F.Mk.I
HMS Egret
MTB-523
Blenheim Mk.IV (model rework)
GBT 155
AS90
MTB-379
Typhoon (AESA)
Ajax
HMS Fiji
HMS Prince of Wales
HMS Fiji
HMS Prince of Wales
Mosquito B Mk XVI
Chieftain 900
HMS Centurion
All British. And thats just the last 12 months.
I hope also that they added finally submarines 🙏
Same goes for BP vehicles, and the Smin comment you were responding to literally said:
“Conversely, Britain has had a higher share of event and tree vehicles within this same period compared to most similar sized nations that received more BP vehicles. Which is factored in to our overall schedules and planning.”
One Spitfire should also be added to the list:

My predictions for DCT, taking into account the bomber buff, the arrival of submarines, and the fact that Japan has not had a vehicle featured in DCT so far:

The design is unconventional, as it features two piston engines and two small jet engines.
Could’ve gone with the AMX-10 RAA or AMX-30 Sabre but nope, it’s gotta be a Gepard copy-paste functionally speaking with slightly different radars. It’s been nearly a year sine the last completely indigenous French ground vehicle, the French tree continues to be less and less French due to gaijin’s commitment to the past of least efforts required.
It doesn’t even help with the 6.3-8.7 SPAA gap because it’ll only be 0.3 below the AMX-30 DCA nor does it help the 9.7-12.0 SPAA gap.
The vehicle is not a “copy paste” but has unqiue visual differences from the German Gerpard. As this is a unique dutch modification. With the Netherlands being a sub tree of the French tree.
This adds a very practical and functional vehicle to the tree overall.
If you hadn’t cropped what I wrote you would have noticed that what I said was that it was "a Gepard copy-paste functionally speaking ". That’s a massive qualifier you just removed there and honestly I’m a bit annoyed by it, because at this point you’re just addressing a strawman as this is not what I actually said.
It has a Gepard turret on a Leopard 1 chassis. That’s what a Gepard is. Yes the radar will be different, but gameplay wise it’ll be exactly the same as a Gepard. Which means that it’s a safe vehicle for gaijin to add, as there’s 0 balancing work involved since its performance is already known.
It is, functionally speaking, a copy paste.
This does NOTHING to address what I said about the lack of additions of French designed ground vehicles in the last 12 months, nor does this justify adding it instead of the AMX-10 RAA or AMX-30 Sabre.
Additionally, the addition of the BeNeLux was something that gaijin forced on us, we have absolutely no obligation to be okay with every decision you make regarding it.
And when the presence of said forced subtree results in less native vehicle being added, we have every right to be critical of these decisions.
Adding an SPAA that’s only 0.3 BR below another when there are 2 massive gaps at 6.3-8.7 or the 9.7-12.0 isn’t exactly what I’d call “very practical”. Also doesn’t justify adding it instead of the AMX-10 RAA or AMX-30 Sabre.
While I’m not against adding more unique BeNeLux vehicles to the French tree, I do have to agree that this is functionally just a Gepard, and doesn’t really fill any gaps. It’ll be better for up-tiers than the AMX-30 DCA but that’s about it. There are countless examples of actual French vehicles that would be perfect:
- AMX-10 RAA: ~8.3 (doesn’t fill a gap, but more unique)
- AMX-30 Sabre: ~8.3 (doesn’t fill a gap, but more unique)
- AMX-13 DCA (P): ~8.0 (helps, to an extent, fill the 6.3–8.7 gap)
- VAB (TA-20): ~7.7 (helps fill the gap)
- AML (S530): ~6.7-7.0 (helps fill the gap)
There are a number of other turrets that would fill the 7.x BR range too.
By this logic. Any new SPAA with 30-35mm cannons or a high RoF on an MBT chasis is “copy paste”?
Its a very strange critera to have. Should we also not add any new multirole fighter jets armed with ARH missiles because they are “functionally copy paste”?
The misunderstanding here is the vehicle was not planned “instead of” either of these two. These are additional vehicles you would like to see in the future, which is perfectly reasonable as a suggestion. They do not replace the PTRL, nor does it replace or come “instead of” them.
You may personally not. Please do not speak in the “we” as eveyone. Many people play and enjoy those vehicles.
Filling gaps doesn’t just mean you add for the middile of the gap only and start there. Popular BR lineups and actual functionally practical vehicles, as well as unique modifications (which this is) are also considered.
The PTRL does not replace or come instead of any of these vehicles. Nor does it prevent them in the future.
Different MBTs have different armour layouts, mobility, etc. Different 30–35mm turrets have different ammo choices, rate of fire, radars, some have missiles, etc. The PRTL, assuming it’s the base variant, is the same exact hull as the Gepard, the same exact guns, and just a different radar which will likely mean very little noticeable difference in-game.
Different jets have different engines, flight models, etc. They’re not really comparable. (and to be clear, I usually support “copy-paste” vehicles; I’m a big fan of subtrees and the potential they have, I just feel it is often wasted)
That’s great, but as much as you say this, I think a lot of people don’t really see this to be true. Maybe a VAB (TA-20) gets added in 1–2 years — yay? I’d hope to be proven wrong but it does really feel like a lot of these BeNeLux additions to the game are done to minimise effort. There are actually unique, domestic BeNeLux designs too (ground), but we haven’t got any of them! The Cobra IFV and light tank, the Piranha IIIC IFVs and light tanks, the Leopard with the 3105 turret, the YPR 765, hell, the Leopard 1A5BE with MEXAS (and domestic MECAR APFSDS rounds)
To give credit where credit is due, the PRTL has the opportunity to be the most unique of the BeNeLux ground additions so far, but I agree that:
-
it appears that BeNeLux additions have been mostly focused on what can be added with the least effort; and
-
that adding something at ~8.3 is one of the least effective ways of addressing the French 6.3-8.7 SPAA gap
At the end of the day there are plenty of French platforms that would just need a new turret to be added that should be in the same order of magnitude of modeling effort as the PRTL, and it’s disappointing we’ve not seen any movement in that direction for years
Given the status quo in the British tech tree, which is still yet to receive a single British light tank between the BRs of 3.0 and 7.7, or a single British SPAA between the BRs of 4.0 and 8.3 (both gaps that have been filled by sub nation content), it is impossible to believe that the addition of sub-nation content doesn’t significantly delay the addition of domestic content.
Nobody here believes that Gaijin are rubbing their hands together in some kind of evil lair saying ‘mwahaha we can add this Benelux vehicle instead of this french vehicle and never add any french vehicles ever again’. But the proven track record is that once a gap is addressed with sub-nation content, the addition of domestic content that fills the same role is then worst case completely absent or at least significantly delayed.
Between the AMX-30 and Leopard chasis based SPAAs, this is very minimal and haddly of any impact to the gameplay of either.
As a unique Dutch variant, it has differences both visually and with its radar. This offers both a unique Dutch modification to the sub tree and something new gameplay wise to the French tree overall they do not currently have.
This is a unique domestic variant vehicle for the Netherlands. Precisely why we are adding it. Others are under consideration for the future too.
I agree. Again, I do generally support the addition of the BeNeLux subtree, I will definitely research and play the PRTL, and I do think the subtree has huge potential. I just think it’s a bit wasted, sadly.

Do you not see how there is a difference between a Dutch-modified Gepard with no functional difference to the Gepard already in-game, and the completely Belgian-designed and produced Cobra 90, for example, with a domestic Belgian gun and ammunition? (yes, I know an SPAA is not the same as a 90mm light tank)
Yes, the PRTL is Dutch-modified and thus ‘unique’, but it’s not the same level of ‘unique’ as an actual Dutch / Belgian-designed and domestically-produced vehicle that isn’t just a variant of a pre-existing vehicle.
