Agreed, think ASRAAM should improve things but won’t be as good as 9X in pure manoeuvrability but better in engergy, hopefully better than 9M turn wise, and much better energy wise.
Meteor will be end game, but I don’t think the phoons should get the 120D
Interesting for sure, I’d imagine its going to a long time before I can get access to that kind of information.
There are alot of unknowns about the flight profile for Meteor.

It’ll have worst turn performance than Aim120C5 because of Gaijin’s logic of less fin = less manueverability
Has larger control surfaces than a AIM-120A/B? As well as being a tail control design and accelerates slower allowing it to turn harder?
Not really surprising as the ramjet (or throttleable ducted rocket) is the part which is most unique to the meteor and the core component for its performance. The flight profile can be as variable as it gets and even a shut-off + reignition is in the realm of possibility (pyrophoric fuel).

It only has one set of control surfaces. The forward fins don’t move. And the Meteor body is larger generating more lift.
Going by that: Shouldn’t the AIM-120A/B/C be much more maneuverable after launch ingame? Currently they don’t seem to be able to maneuver at all even if they accelerate slow in comparison to other missiles.
But what are the purpose of the forward fins

Stabilizing and I would guess something akin to strakes (like the ones of the IRIS-T) to cause wanted vortices like turbulators.

I think these are far off or rather not needed as currently the maps are way too small for AA to hide anyway so ARMs would just kill AAs even more easily as they are already.
Yes, but we don’t know the deflection angles or the power of the control-surface motors which also has a great impact.

Tell gaijin to finally acknowledge EC as a real gamemode for air with naval and ground converged into it (ad-hoc battles in smaller areas inside the EC map which are frontline advancements) on bigger map reagions.
