Is there a chance we can get either new game modes (seriously, the same “cap # of points” is beyond boring and dated) or SUPER large maps (I’m talking about 15+km x 15+km) that have objectives to them beyond cap a point? Like assault a base, capture a resupply depot (so it has a mission objective), scout these targets, etc? The second one would be more of an event style map I guess, but that would be a great way to add infantry with AT guns, rockets, Ai tanks, etc. I guess more of a “Ground EC” if anything.
Seriously: The radar implementation in the game is rather lackluster. You could implement most of the radar functionality we have ingame with source from wikipedia or an only little more advanced source. Most M-Scan radars work the same ingame as do the AESAs. The only real difference is mode support, notch-gates (which aren’t even real as the radar uses other waveforms to compensate automatically), scan-speed, scan-FoV, etc. There isn’t much deeper technicality that would be relevant for the game. The don’t even get the scan-pattern for AESAs right and just use the M-Scan pattern which AESAs only use if they want to reach as far as they can (mostly >200 km).
Don’t get me started on BOL-Pods. These got gimped beyond recognition and they refuse to fix/unnerf them.
And contradict themselves constantly. There is a famous topic somewhere here in the forum where they publicly stated that they don’t believe primary sources, so they implemented it as they saw fit. My post got flagged when I pulled it out/quoted it last time, so you can make of that what you want.
With new ARH missiles on the horizon and possibly more later this year, Gaijin seriously needs to hard cap the map rotation to the Operation maps only for top tier. The 64x64 maps will just be miserable to play with longer and longer ranged missiles, especially with air spawns still being a thing.
This missile will feature on a new aircraft variant coming next update
I know the chances of this happening are extremely low but I sure hope its Desert Falcon
While US has AESA, things like IRST and even MAW aren’t on any of their top tier fighters and would be useful to have (PIDS as well)
In most primary sources, it may be true, I personally do not trust a Chinese manufacturer to say the plane or missile does, but the problem is selectivity in some points.
