They can still be fired in mem lock from notch even if the radar is 140 degrees max just like the Rafale can fire at a target behind it in mem lock. But the AIM-120D doesn’t have TVC to take advantage of it.
I have no issue with German Eurofighter getting it. The performance difference won’t be that much anyways and they’ve already said the Eurofighters don’t need it

Yeah nothing to suggest right now anyone is planning on AIM-120D going on their Typhoons. The primary armament is Meteor and I can’t see that changing, especially when we know now its capable of moving 100km in only 90 seconds.
