I believe that the commander sight ranging bug is a widespread bug due to the amount of bug reports on warthunder issues, so I have found a band aid fix for it. in ground settings, if you set the commander sight to be in a loop, it fixes itself for the rest of the battle. This is very temporary, however, as it needs to be done at the start every time.
