No he is factually wrong. My point was that they are examples of turret top MGs that didn’t need it’s gunner to expose themselves when firing.

While it’s an interesting feature it kinda doesn’t make sense. Like why is the commander out when using binoculars but not in third person view? Or how about when using the commander’s (or loaders or really any) external machine gun?
I would somewhat support sight mechanics like in Enlisted, but those would also be too realistic for any mode except simulator, and would also be a lot of work for something very small.
As long as this feature allows people to make custom model replacement mods that are server-side would be pretty cool. So long of course it’s appropriate such as ->Girls und panzer or something of that sort. So +1 since this is progress.
yes that is what both of you are saying. He’s saying it’s apart of the cupola itself and can be fired from inside of it. When he says “hand fired” he doesn’t mean coming out of the hatch to shoot a weapon that doesnt exist outside of the tank, he just means using it inside because thats how it’s used.

No its really not. He tried to pedant on my post so I raised him. Words matter.
He called it just a hatch with a MG sticking out. Go look at diagrams of the M48-M60 cupola and you will see this is incorrect. The M85 is separate from the TC, its really a tiny tank turret, so its closer to a remote weapon station than a manually controlled MG.
its only hand fired vetically the horizontal movmeant is like a turret but moving the gun up and down IRL is actually just like firing a .50 on a sherman
