Pretty simple: When in VR mode, turning the cockpit sight off on some sights, usually with the earlier designs that have a secondary ring (not sure what its called), that second ring stays visible within the cockpit sight. One for each eye.
You have to turn your head enough to one side, but its more prominent with both visible if zoomed in. Really annoying when trying to see aircraft directly ahead and still cant see with the sight off.
