Coastal Fleet at High BR: Major Balance Issues

Today I’d like to bring attention to an issue faced by coastal fleet players in the game. Progressing through coastal fleet vessels is quite difficult, especially at higher BRs.

If you play boats from BR 3.7 and above, you start facing large ships — destroyers and even bigger ones. It’s frustrating to play with your 4.3 boat, for example, and face an enemy team entirely made up of bluewater navy ships. And what can you do in that situation? Nothing. How do you earn points? You capture a point and die.

I believe we need boat-vs-boat encounters, not boats against warships. How can that be achieved? One option would be to add bot-controlled enemy boats, allowing players to score points. Another option would be to create new objectives specifically designed for coastal vessels.

Right now, BR 3.7, 4.0, 4.3, or 4.7 boats facing large warships is just not viable — there’s really nothing we can do in those matches.

It already starts with autocannon fitted boats vs. patrol ships like the Amiens. Which spawns next to them at 3.0 BR, with a DD-like damage model and main guns which onetap any boat (with its 138mm main gun. 75mm secondary gun, 37mm autocannons) While you can spray 20mm shells into it for no result. Its balancing from hell. Autocannon armed small boats vs this thing…dunno…Naval game modes are totally deserted for a reason.
