Just wanted to add that:

  1. You can’t really lock prop planes around BR 3.3. They need to be so close that you’re already dead imho…

  2. When you manage to fire they miss single prop planes. Seem to have no proxy fuse and won’t even hit a plane flying straight at you without doing maneuvers.

  3. The might hit heavy or medium bombers with luck. If they do so, they fail to kill it. Damage is very low.

Why is this even added? And why is the Bernau at BR 3.3? Every AI controlled AA machine gun is more lethal than the strela.

To make community cope and whine how broken and op this will be under the devblog lol

It is still a decent gun boat with three 25mm turrets on 3.3. I don’t see a point moving it down nor up.

Well, we left this kind of reasoning far behind us :) There are already several other ships shooting with missiles at planes.

Bernau is an ok gunboat. But suffers from its bad gun layout. It might just direct 2 of 3 turrets on one target, which makes it inferior even to 3.0 or 2.7 boats. Its very slow. And total lack of AA. There is not even a AA machine gun. Just nothing. For such a huge, slow boat a death sentence.

you seem to forget the damage output of those guns?

it has much higher damage output and much better survivability compared to other slow rapid fire gun boats like BMO, AF D, SF40, MS473, K-7 fairmile and greyfox.

you have your guns mate, use them.

Strela on Bernau is not Strela-10, but Strela-2. Their size and development year is very different. No optical tracking on manpads.

Like most things added to GJN out of the blue: To test the mechanics and how the player base responds. Given that it doesn’t really impact much, if any game play, I would assume Sterla-2Ms will distributed to the rest of the ships missing them rather soon.
