I’m comparing the numbers game is giving in X-ray, with numbers in the files on my own PC.
idk not sure that “series 3” engine, which has “more” thrust in X-ray, to have less. Plus, you just confirmed that X-ray is in fact, lying. 6820 kgf on xray and 6787 in game.
While I dont main Russian aircraft, that seems like a fair compromise/buff. If the flight model of Mig-29 and Su-27 are really that bad, I would rather see the FM get a buff rather than just newer/ OP missiles.
That’s 6775 at 35 meters [which sadly matters] above sea level on Denmark which isn’t a Standard Day.
There will always be margin of error cause there’s not a single test drive map that’s at Sea Level AND a Standard Day in air temperature [and potentially other parameters].
Grb sam update is long overdue because of the more and more advanced air to ground munition making cas practically unkillable for ground player , nice to see that dev also aknowledge that finally, hoping the spaa upgrade is number 1 priority for now, and could come as soon as possible for all tree that need them, preferably at the same time
Everyone complains that the russians have bad flight models but don’t realize that they have better low speed maneuverability than most us jets, at higher speeds I have found that they are pretty evenly matched performance wise and this is coming from an American and a US main
I have to agree with what someone said above; its a shame there wasnt anything regarding Sim Battles. Would love to see new content come for that mode. It is the most enjoyable mode in the game.
This is great, there’s loads of aircraft that fit this and would be really fun to see in-game. Personally would love something like the:
AC-130
L-4 Grasshopper (Rosie the Rocketeer)
AH-56 Cheyenne
V-22 (has been trialed with APKWS, Zuni’s and belly mounted turret)
Also stuff like modern strategic bombers like the Vulcan, B-52, B-2 and Tu-95 would be cool to see
yep, they kept the russian jets with under BR’d missiles as a band aid fix ever since they fk’d the fm up and since then have not yet been bothered to actually look into the fm further to deal with the root causes of the poor performance. If they simply just delt with that then the jets would more or less be fine (in addition to fixing the radar scan pattern - which has an outstanding bug report just sitting there since like june)
Soviet jets don’t have under-BR’d missiles.
Mig-29 9.13 is 12.7 not 12.3.
And the Mig-29SMT is just part of many under-BR’d AMRAAM carriers [the literal definition of AMRAAM, not any specific missile, I might say AMRAHM… hmmm…].
the ADV-29 system (air intake flaps) does affect thrust irl, but not in warthunder.
If you make a custom test map and make the MiG-29 flow statically in the air the thrust stays the same at roughly 6850kgf per engine even tho the intakes are now opened.
This reduces its thrust to weight ratio from 1.14 at 60% fuel (13000kg weight total) [attachement 2] to a thrust to weight ratio of 1.05 at 60% fuel
Am a US main as well. Ive just seen that particular gripe quite often and that I agree on the idea of improving the flight model versus getting better missiles.
