Cluster Bombs in Air Battles!

MW-1 when!?

We neeeeeeedddddd it

Most WOII cluster munition was anti-personel. Korea and Vietnam-era hopefuly get it soon.

I mean we get incendiary bombs, which don’t do much against armored targets. I don’t see why these should be out of the picture. I would think they’d be good for anti artillery, AAA, and bases

Have a look at the Iraqi airfields in Desert Storm and you got your answer. Although it often was attacked with multiple jets. AA is not able to destroy the majority of cluster munitions, so hopefully AA will not be too strong.

You gotta have some patience

Cluster bombs first, cluster dispensers (hopefully) later

These two would also be interesting to see

Gaijin doesn’t like ww2 era, so we’ll have to wait like 4 more years

How About cluster dispensers like JP233 and MW1?

The PTAB could even be used by Po-2s and Yak-9Bs, would def put those small bombays on Il-2s and Yak-9Bs to actual use. Since it could penetrate up to 60mm of steel.

I’d also like to see incediaries like M-69s (for B-29s) and RRAB-3s

Will this include PTAB bomblets?

NO! just make it a black box that shoots bombs out!

In seriousness, i am excited to see it come to the game.

I need PTAB for Yak-9B

Yak-9B has a weird bombay control, it can’t open it and it just drop bombs with a delay like if you’ve had a bomb trolley from a dive bomber. No idea why it does that.

I hate that this is unfortunately true.

Sooooooooo… many aircraft could get really good new lease on life in-game with CBUs, I just hope they dont cherry pick

How is Gaijin going to introduce submunition dispensers without easily the most iconic of all?

I worry it is going to mostly be relegated to rank VIII and IX aircraft, rather than the plethora of rank VI and VII aircraft that could carry them and probably make better use of them in Nuclear Escalation than top rank aircraft.

I don’t expect cluster bombs to be more effective than LO guided bombs like the GBU-39 and JSOW, for instance.

Yeah, my main hope is seeing them on the Strikemaster and hawk t.1a 1 day for fun use in air RB (if not grb) for clearing lines of tanks etc. Would be a nice difference to “go bomb the bases”.

We will know when if/when they add them lol

My assumption is that they would work like rocket pods, but with bomblets instead of rockets
