a bit ago, i’ve noticed war thunder failing to close without closing war thunder in the game through options (or alt+f4) + the steam close button, and now its getting worse with longer periods of freezing before actually closing the game.
now i have to use task manager to completely shut off the game, and its gotten to a point where my pc freezes for like 5+ minutes.
oh its also worth mentioning that if i tried closing war thunder, the game freezes and never actually shuts down, requiring me to use task manager to end the task forcefully.
Install windows fresh and see if the problem stays.
Love how you just go straight to reinstalling windows lol.
But maybe try verifying files through the launcher or just reinstalling the game.

I have a win11 image and spare SSDs. Pull one out, put one in. See what happens. If the problem persists, you have hardware issues. I rather rule that out first.
I doubt most people have this option.
I have a couple spare ssd and the ability to put windows on them. Reinstalling the game or verifying files would still be faster(unless you have slow internet)
