CLAWS is broken, aim9x-block 2 are essentially rockets which never track properly

this cannot be considered functional, its COMPLETELY unusable, like the su30mkm who killed me? i fired 2 aim9x one at a missile and one at him, yet none actually went for him, all my other 9x completely failed to even get a proper track, absolutely insane

Track looks fine to me in the sensor view, looks more like a failure to maneuver correctly in relation to the track.

do you also find the behavior to be unusual? cause those aim9x seemed to just not even try.

Most of them behaved like i expect, i saw two that flew oddly but kept the tracking like i would expect. I don’t know if you used the sensor view when you watched the replay but you can see what the missile is looking at, you can see how it has flown and you can see statistics about it’s speed, AoA, distance to target and things like that as well.

A general tip though:
You also at some points had your launcher vehicles aimed to a high angle away from the intended target, so when you launched the missiles had to do a very hard turn at the start to even be aimed at your target. A tip is to wait a few moments (if you can) to allow the launchers to turn and aim before you fire, it helps the missile have more energy further out.

To see what i mean take the vehicle into test drive and stand next to the launcher when you fire and quickly switch targets and fire a couple of times and you’ll see that the launcher has no time to turn fully so the missile has to do a U-turn to get on target. That looses a lot of energy and makes the missiles fly a shorter distance and turn worse once they are closer to the enemy target.

i know but thats inevitable in most scenarios, you get a radar contact for so little time in most cases, and afak i think there was only one extremely high hobs shot that was 100% to miss, and the radar on the claws is fairly poor in the first place, it can barely keep track of even good targets in my experience.

i always do, for the su30s shots i have virtually no idea what the aim9x were smoking

When things that look odd in-game happen i always have the habit of taking a screenshot as those are required to make a bug report (they create a tag in the games code so that the dev’s know where to look for the issue, without it it’s almost impossible for them to find where in the code to look). I then check server replay and if was something normal i just move on to the next match but if it looks weird i already have the correct screenshot to create a bug report for it :)

im fairly sure 99% of my problems stem from bad targetting data from the radar, and there are already a few accepted bug reports, cant do much but wait, i made this post more as a visibility thing, cause this thing is just really ineffective in my experience.

I’m not 100% sure but i think that as soon as the missile gets it’s own lock it ignores the radar vehicles datalink so that shouldn’t effect the missiles track.

but if the missile is fired and right after the radar autolocks a fired munition the DL will be provided for something you didnt really target, like one of the 9X was going for the sky, the general direction where the kh38s lofted

I think that is a general issue and not directly related to any specific vehicle or missile.

its made worse by the fact the claws doesnt pick them up as soon as theyre fired in my experience, sometimes they disappear and reappear which also relocks

Not sure i follow what you mean here.

ive had times where i target an aircraft, they fire their muniton and my lock switches, then i retarget the aircraft only to then get retargeted to the same munition because i had lost track for a bit. doesnt happen against high altitude attack but happened multiple times against peopel hugging the ground
