+1 for sure
+1 for sure, for 4.7 also with side applique and add-on tracks
No. Anyone who has the horribly over BRed APDS churchill(black prince) can tell you how bad that already is at anything but brawling due to gun dispersion with APDS(i.e. it can miss a stationary tiger 2’s broad side past 400m) and well being a churchill.
IF you think thats some god round just get a black prince in test drive and you will see that its not anything worth talking about and even the regular shells are better at BRs that other churchills are at. That and if they did add APDS they would have to up BR it to 6.0 like the already too high black prince.
Or instead of nerfing a premium tank, just fix the visual model to the longer barrle. As germany also captured those.
huh, I never had those dispersion issues. Don’t think that they would have to BR it to 6.0, challenger has APDS at 5.3 and Comet has APDS at 5.0, so a tank with weaker APDS in the 4-5 range seems fine.
Don’t think there is any photographic evidence of that.
besides, premium tanks get nerfed all the time with BR changes. VIDAR and TURM III for example. reducing the penetration, but dropping the BR to compensate seems fine to me.
Its impossible for them not to have captured one of those.
And not really, those are higher rank ones, the church isnt.
You can see the obvious difference in length, as well as the counterweight on the Mk V.
um, what prompts this history lesson? I had thought that I had proven pretty conclusively throughout this thread that I can tell the difference between a MK III and MK V 6 pounder.
I misunderstood you, didn’t realise you were saying photographic evidence of German captured L/50 Churchills.
In regards to a photo of a German Churchill with a 6pdr Mk V, I think this might be a photo of one.
While this is not a Churchill Mk III as the German one is ingame, and instead a Mk IV, i do belive that it is a 6pdr mk V, however i might be wrong.

Here a III with L/50
Well bless my heart, you could also change the visual model of the german premium! More than one way to skin a cat I guess.
You beat me to it.
My idea was always something like this:
- Move current Churchill Mk. III to 3.7 and give it the correct 6-Pdr Mk. III
- Add a Churchill Mk. III (L/50) to 4.0 and give it the missing APCR ammo.
- Add a Churchill Mk. III (L/50) Late to 4.3 and give it the missing APDS ammo, as well as the additional turret and applique armour.
Then Gaijin just have to choose 1 of the above to change the German Churchill into.
I doubt the german Churchill will recive any fancy Apcr or Apds, so giving it the proper Mk. V L/50 would be the best option, nothing won nothing lost to how it is currently.
Definitly a Mk V 6pr. Basically all the IIIs and IVs I see late war are Mk V fitted, though a few rare Mk III guns seen.
That Britain doesn’t have 6pdr APDS and there’s no vehicle rocking the 37mm and 40mm Little John Adapter, in War Thunder, is honestly a crime.
But I’m glad 1.0 tanks get 37mm APDS from the 50s because that’s totally what they need.
I’m also tying not to mention 45mm APHE.
Ironically 6 pounder apds is in the files and has been for like a year or more
Was there ever a L/50 6 pound mounted on a Churchill Mk.7?
Not to my knowledge, no. All of them were factory built with QF75mm.
