Churchill IV with L/50 Q.F. 6 pounder: APDS for British Heavys.

Its impossible for them not to have captured one of those.
And not really, those are higher rank ones, the church isnt.

You can see the obvious difference in length, as well as the counterweight on the Mk V.

um, what prompts this history lesson? I had thought that I had proven pretty conclusively throughout this thread that I can tell the difference between a MK III and MK V 6 pounder.

I misunderstood you, didn’t realise you were saying photographic evidence of German captured L/50 Churchills.

In regards to a photo of a German Churchill with a 6pdr Mk V, I think this might be a photo of one.
While this is not a Churchill Mk III as the German one is ingame, and instead a Mk IV, i do belive that it is a 6pdr mk V, however i might be wrong.

Well bless my heart, you could also change the visual model of the german premium! More than one way to skin a cat I guess.

You beat me to it.

My idea was always something like this:

  • Move current Churchill Mk. III to 3.7 and give it the correct 6-Pdr Mk. III
  • Add a Churchill Mk. III (L/50) to 4.0 and give it the missing APCR ammo.
  • Add a Churchill Mk. III (L/50) Late to 4.3 and give it the missing APDS ammo, as well as the additional turret and applique armour.

Then Gaijin just have to choose 1 of the above to change the German Churchill into.

I doubt the german Churchill will recive any fancy Apcr or Apds, so giving it the proper Mk. V L/50 would be the best option, nothing won nothing lost to how it is currently.

Definitly a Mk V 6pr. Basically all the IIIs and IVs I see late war are Mk V fitted, though a few rare Mk III guns seen.
