Chinese Air-To-Air missiles, History, Performance & Discussion

it missed by a fair margin in that video i wouldnt be too suprised if a SU-30 could do it too

Is that still not an issue?

When amraam was nerfed it wasn’t close to this much disregarding release aim-120c5 which got buffed later on anyways

its an issue

but these are the same people who disagree when you say sparrows are useless because they can be rolled

they have to chose one way or the other

it took a year for it to get buffed

I don’t disagree, the sparrow was never and will never be a useful missile in competitive play. It’s only useful against people who are bad or distracted.

I mean the difference is that it’s very easy to tell what is a sparrow carrier (whenever you see a nato plane that has launch warnings instead of missile warning) vs MSL warnings where you don’t really know the carrier of said msl unless it’s a 1v1.

Overall I think the whole rolling thing is a bit overblown for pl-12 cause in actual matches you’re gonna treat it like any other fox 3 while for sparrow it’s a glaring issue cause you KNOW it’s a sparrow and you can easily out roll it.

A bigger thing imo for pl-12 is it losing its hobs capability

so directly comparable with the amraam nerf over a year ago?

Yk what yeah fairs

yeah thats all ive been trying to say

that this is very similar and comparable to the amraam nerf

Mig-19 and mig-17 can do it, not only ufo.

I’m not suprised seeing some US mains reinforce their victim complex in this thread.

that is rolling it, not just out pulling it as shown above

AIM-7 moment lmao

Just pulling it.

you dont need an ufo flight model to do that

also you cant do that even to the aim-120d

Yet i heard you say its fine how the pl-12 are in their current state. However if it is the Aim-120 in that same position, you are not fine with that? Seems hypocritical?

After nearly 2 years of your constant talk about how your poor 120s deserve a better treatment?

PL-12 is a special situation, the lack of the mobility isn’t because the fins’ limit like AMRAAM but the small range of CM to stabilizers. not just too short, but not matching the original control program designed for it. causing the fins can’t perform well in high speed

they did change the guidance values so its mainly the CM to stab distance

not much, at least not matching the cm range change.
usually the higher speed the harder missile pulls, but not for PL-12 now

I never said this was fine

only that this is the same thing that was done to amraam

and that a lot of people were saying that was fine, but this isnt

its either both should be reverted or both are fine
and yet a lot of people are saying this is a problem but amraam nerf isnt
