Its very interesting that you see very little of unique unit emblems could just be a bulk of what we see is from the western part of the internet so we see much less but transport stickers are sort of universal and generally look good.
Though not fully scientific a lot of interesting “decals” tend to come from times of heavy conflict and drafts (you bring in lots of random people and likely wont punish someone for drawing on there armored vehicle even if its violates the rules) China has a draft system it just has no need to use it right now she has enough people enlisting. That is my theory could also be a mix of its not encouraged where in some nations it is but its likely a whole mix of stuff. Doubt we will see Chinese meme culture bleed in anytime soon. However there are rank badges which are old but I don’t know enough about them (from imperial era)
I know Chinese units especially historical units have physical items connected to them if I remember right one is a leather belt from WW2 and the civil war. If your looking for emblems China does have whole Peace Keeper core they use there own domestic vehicles and make identification emblems in the language of the nation there in so people know who they are. (good way to also get feed back on some equipment like improve dust filter)
Definitely true that we are quite limited on what we can see, there are definitely more decals out there as I found out through 6 hours worth of research (I also suggested a decal for the 2nd Fighter Division (中华人民共和国空军歼击机第2师) the Baidu page has the decal) and from what I have gathered, historically at least, Air units had a wider range of customization, with mainly inscriptions plastered all over the airframe, usually tied with a political statement and on the rare occasion symbols as well.
Tank and infantry units had far less unit emblems, I had figured that it was probably due to their strict standards but a few do slip by from time to time, until more recently where they gave more freedom to specialized units (both infantry and tank units), but for the majority of the units they are still using basic PLA insignias.
As for Air units, they’ve also more or less lessened the use of inscriptions, majority of airframes lack proper unit decal with some exceptions (flying shark decal etc) there’s also mission patches, they would give them out to soldiers who take part in joint training exercises but the patches itself aren’t well documented, it’s kinda scattered around the web, if you know what I mean.
The Flying sharks are the cream of the crop so ya they get there own thing there is also the acrobatic core there very public facing so they get emblems.
About patches and buttons Gaijin has made them into decals to they do sort of count. Don’t know how far one can go concerning the UN emblem marking for China.
Sure you could write a decal suggestion for them now but I would wait for infantry mode to allow for suggestions. Or write the suggestion try but keep a word document back up if the mods think its a stretch right now.
Japan has a Patch to Emblem for the monthly it was the navy one people where mix on it so I don’t know how far they would take that one for China. There is also R&D emblems for China if your looking for something else.

True that, but the main factors are
A) It’s naval, there’s always someone who’ll be upset by having a naval decal instead of air/ground decals since its the least popular gamemode
B) China already has a wide range of unit decals in game and it is a special case because China has a finite amount of specific decals for vehicles and people weren’t really against them when the infantry decals popped up in the battlepass.
C) Japan has a much wider range of tank, planes and proper naval combatant forces’ decals, for many people it seemed out of place.
