Chengdu J-10, History, Performance & Discussion

I would hope they make a separate line for J10, like separate all the J7s and add more J7s to fill up the J10 line starting from F84, with perhaps F84F as well. The Q5 JH7 line gets moved to bomber line like the Russian tech tree where the Mig27 succeeded the bomber line.

J-10A’s PL-9C, and PL-12 on the old dual pylon.

这写的不是AWRAAM-10 吗?还是说AWRAAM的编号不同?
I thought it said AWRAAM-10, which should indicate PL10? OR is this a different naming system?

SD10比PL12早,你就想AMRAAM-10这名字和SD10的关系。

我以为PL10呢,脑子没转过来
complete sentence

就像没人会管歼11叫K/AKK11一样(x
just same things with different name

Do you think those double mounted missiles fit at the same time as the ones on the inner pylons?

as long as the fins won’t interfere each other, and clearly they won’t
unless you put a composite pylon in inner hardpoint too

Well I can’t find any other pictures of them putting missiles on the inner pylons and there’s gotta be a reason. They always have drop tanks which makes me worry about the range.

check my former reply, there are other pic and my explain

Oh right… how do other planes deal with this, like the su27 that just straight up mounts missiles to the engines?

they use drop pylon, drop the missile then the rocket burn. PL-12 both able to use slid pylon and drop.
the smoke issue is just a inference, and can be wrong

Well there’s gotta be some reason cause most nations will try to do shows of force by sticking as many missiles on their planes as they can for photoshoots.

chinese army seldom do this

Seldom show off? They do military parades all the time with big lines of tanks and missile launchers and the like. Guess the Air Force doesn’t care though.

Gib J10B to makeup for the nightmare that is the J11A)))

J-10B would be 13.3 BR but gajin ready 2 or 3 years

There’s a possibility that this year gajin could add Chengdu J-10A

13.3? It’s got a pesa radar.

Obviously, the LS-6 diameter is much larger than PL-12.

At least there are no hardware restrictions, the ACMI pod needs to be connected to the 1553B bus via missile pylons.

J10A-ACMI

And the valid source was verified by the administrator David_Bowie , the source shows that missiles can be mounted at six hardpoints on the wings.
