Chatban. Can i atleast find what the message was that got me banned?

This is the second ban. The first one i agree. i got a little heated up when a teammate killstealed. But for this one, they just used the same moderators comment.

i was banned too for the same reason

Contact a GM via forum PM to ask for details. For data privacy reasons we will of course not disclose such info publicly/openly.

Yes, there are only a few categories for us to chose from.

Think you can try sending a message a game moderator for the reason

Hey man, I just got off a 30 day chat ban… Went to appeal and the Mod told me anything negative now is considered hate speech. So you cant say anything negative at all now or they’ll ban you if someone reports.
Russian Devs and Mods trying to limit your freedom of speech.
See you in 30 days.

That’s a bit too easy to say. The rules are very clear, and “anything negative” can actually be highly offensive and frankly disgusting.

No. We simply are tasked to protect our customers from the highly offensive and disgusting content I mentioned above. It’s really astonishing sometimes what people think is an acceptable way to communicate with random people they encounter.

Freedom of Speech does NOT mean Freedom to Insult and Offend as One Wishes.

Lo0o0o0ol Nah nah nah don’t even play that “betterment of the game”… Y’all have become 10ply SOFT. I’ve been here since the BETA and watching mods overtake the atmosphere of this game has been one of the many downfalls and why I still give this game a negative review. The devs even but a censorship option AND YOU STILL CHAT BAN!!! I can understand racism, that should have a zero tolerance, but this hyper control over speech is wild.

OH before I forget Renamed, this is the chat mod list. good luck

We have not changed our procedures regarding what is considered offensive and punishable since WT started. In what way should we have “overtaken the atmosphere of the game”?

I’m a GM now since ages, and I thus have a good insight into what players think they can get away with in chat, and, again, this is just astonishing. Just imagine people talking like this IRL, in a shop, in a restaurant, on the road, with complete strangers…

The rules state where there are no tolerances. Those are not exaggerated, and note that minor offenses (like e.g. simple swearing and insults) and grave offenses (like racism, hate speech, sexual speech, drug references, etc.) are already handled differently and lead to different durations of punishments, also repetition of offenses has an influence on punishment durations.

It absolutely covers that. However it applies to governments and companies acting on a governments behalf to prevent speech, not to a company acting independently. Gaijin would be within their rights to make saying “potato” a ban able offence as long as they are not doing it on behalf of a government. My issue however is the sometimes un-even enforcement where someone PMs me with insults I reply and he reports me and I get banned, we should either both be banned or neither of us.

I looked at your punishment history and couldn’t find a single case that would support your claim, sorry.

We always look at both sides, as our chat logs show the whole conversation, and it’s our standard procedure to also punish the reporter, if a misbehavior on his part is evident. We really strive to treat everybody the same way - what would we have to gain to “always punish me while never punish the other”?

I’ll take your word for it, its not like we can tell if the reporter gets banned too. out of curiosity do you check the games that both players where in before the PMs start too?

No, proactively searching for chat around the reported incident would be extremely inefficient with little to no gain: If there are offensive messages in the main chat of the match, they should get reported there, so we get them anyway. Also looking for them separately would be redundant.

Replying with things that break the rules is never justified, just report them and do not engage with them. They aren’t worth your time nor energy, if you reply in a way where they can report you they are getting what they want and they “win”. Their goal is to get a reaction out of you. If you don’t reply and just report them they get punished and you “win”.

We do punish both sides of a conversation if both have said things that break the rules.

For everyone’s convenience, here is the BARE MINIMUM of the rules in chat:

If you want all of them (that pertain to in-game chat) they are listed in these documents here:
