Changes to Bomber Survivability Feedback and Discussion

Yet im seeing descriptions of hits to the fuselage and a hit to the wing with an even bigger warhead than I thought, also wikipedia? Dawg even an AI searches harder than that. Now go find your guncam footage

Also, loss of hydraulic controls, well we dont have those modules, guess they need to be added, in the meantime we dont have em so why are we even considering hydraulics, the entire time we’ve been looking at structural, something you’ve lost track of a dozen times by now

What belt are you using firstly?

Wait schrage musik doesn’t use a belt does it? Is it just IT APHE and HE?

me when i lie

A “hit” from the crew perspective just means something exploded near them and they felt either the blast wave or SOME fragmentation hit the plane. It does not mean an S-75 literally hit them.

crucially you can see plenty of B-52s actually being shot down or unable to keep flying

You cannot change the belts in these cannons.

For the Ki-45 they can. I use the same belts as on any fighter. I know these work well.

The traction of control surfaces in war thunder are modeled as cables and do not leak. And they also do not have any redundancies on things like say, the a-10, or other large aircraft with backup systems.

Now find the guncam footage lol

“lost all hydraulics” “there is no more human control of the B-52”

what do you think happened to the “traction of control surfaces” when the controls go out

Whenever you find that SA-2 hitting a B-52. After all, I asked first.

I found em, I posted em, find the guncam lmao, stop deflecting

Yeah except they dont take damage over time like say a hydraulic leak, and also they arent divided by system/dont have any redundant systems modeled, But I already said that, you need me to dumb it down for you?

IT in the german Schrage Musik is the only round that can actually catch anything on fire as it shares the same flame chance as .50 APIT
10%
APHE is 3%
HE does literally nothing besides damage. There’s no stat for flame chance.

Ki-45.
HEF-I has a 2.5% chance
AP-T has a 2.5% chance.

firechances are also multiplied by a fueltank modifier. Your flame chances are literally in the single digits.

Really? So where’s the video of the SA-2 hitting a B-52? I don’t see it!

Cool, just have them be taken out immediately.

Mfw modeling more modules in better detail isnt an option apperantly

The way the game switches your camera angle is the most annoying part about using the Schräge Musik cannons

They would actually be easier to use without being forced to look upwards

do you have like a report or something for this

that was a HEI shell btw

first burst!

when calculating. You would need around 12 hits for a 71% chance of fire.
I would recommend you do the test again and instead single shot at the aircraft.

It’s possible you are scoring a fuel fire, but the emitter placed in-game sets the fire at the engine.

Shoot at the other fuel tanks too.

A report for which part exactly, im pointing out 3 different things here

The dedicated cameraman?
Communists being communists?
Or the difficulty of recording video of B52s due to the lack of cameramen/windows + their altitude making it difficult to record from the ground by aformentioned communists

I fired a single shot. Just out of curiosity I did repeat it, and once again one hit fire with the HEI shell.

I’m using this plane because Bf 110 G-4 has no “escort bombers” single player mission.

That’s a wing tank though. It’s the most exposed. Any fuselage tank would risk something hitting the engine.

B7A also has no other fuel tanks, and a big armor plate covering the engine

the claim of a b52 surviving multiple sa-2s

oh my god

so six out of the seven hit went down (six seven lol)

Literally 22, count em, 22 messages up.

Also found more of that same operation

https://migflug.com/afterburner/operation-linebacker-ii-b52s-hanoi-1972/

“15 B-52s destroyed, ten falling in North Vietnam and five crashing in Laos or Thailand, with more damaged. Of the 92 crewmen aboard the lost aircraft, 26 were rescued, 33 captured, 25 listed missing and eight killed or dead of wounds.”
