The fact like not even 100 messages up you got full structural schematics for the b17 and b29 and its just an abhorrent labrinth of spars and ribs that would make a ship designer blush
Also news on the F89D front, on dev it just gives me “error try again later or re log in” (which ive tried)
Maybe i can try the purcara, its not prox fuse mighty mouses but it has the number count
That labyrinth of metal absorbs overpressure well, but not extended rapid stress. The fragmentation is a different story, but if it doesn’t reach the pilots or engines, it won’t do much.
The easy solution to some of this is allowing big explosions to shatter the propellers.
As you can see in this example, while the damage is catastrophic, the shredded bomber is still holding together. This is a kill, but it isn’t split into pieces. The only major parts that fell off completely are an engine and half the wing.
My aim is abysmal dogshit with rockets lmao, I tried keeping the bursts to similar sizes as that video, First burst had one clip the top of the vertical stabilizer and the next burst actually managed to hit
Not gonna lie, I’m pretty sure bombers will be fine as they are right now. People will start aiming for engines and bringing rockets to deal with them. This is entirely historical.
Most of the people against this bomber fix seem to be reacting emotionally and not actually wanting to adapt. I’ve seen this a lot here, as people would rather just cuss you out and insult you instead of replying with counter-evidence like an adult.
No, they’re not fine, that requires effort and neuron activations, bombers are built like fighters and thus single 20mm rounds taking off entire tails is actually really realistic, the luftwaffe just sent up its dumbest and dimmest into the skies over germany because the allies wouldve never managed to bomb the factories if they sent up pilots that could land more than one shot on bombers, and thats unfair :P
notice how it is dead?
war thunder has simplifed damage models because it is a video game and for the player to actually die the wing/tail/whatever needs to physically come off. what you guys are advocating for is more or less making it harder for these parts to come off which with the way damage models work would make them comically tanky and unkillable. if you were to make a hyper realistic damage model and add it to the game changing nothing else from current live server bombers actual survivability would be like slightly better than what we currently have.
