How far off are you. Ive got the F-18F crewed now, and im in the first match. With stock napalm. It probably wont take me too long to grab, but if you are closer, then you can do your own testing as much as you like

very close lol
Then its all on you.
Because Id have 3 entire mods to go yet
But I still want to make it clear. That even with a more reasonable warhead, of near equivalent mass. The damage models are not going to be 1 for 1. as they are a few large parts, that dont break like they would IRL. So dont expect 1 for 1.
The breaking point is between the engines. I can aim just outside of that.
The other issues are that fuel fires are extremely hard to start and easy to put out. Until that gets nerfed the real situation cannot be replicated.
That I think is something that can and should be addressed.
- Make fuel tanks to scale (fuel lines could also be modeled)
- Put a limit of self-sealing fuel tanks so that they cant seal everything.
- Make fuel tanks fire more likely in appropriate situations
- Put a limit on how many times fire extinguishers can be used (though I will be honest, I thought there was already a limit?) (Maybe also a limit on what size fires they are effective on/make them a module that can be damaged and destroyed?)
- Make engine fires last far longer, and basically not extinguish unless fuel starved or EFS is used
- Fire propergation mechanics could also be explored?
- Fire damage to structural intergrity of the wing could also be refined.
Though I think they should also add an easier way to switch off damaged engines, which could then also stop the fire if its in the engine, which I think would be fair
What about certain fire fighting maneuvers used to try and snuff flames like sideslips
If there is a maneuver that a heavy bomber can actually achieve, then yes. But there should still be a limit as to what it can do
though a quick google, its more about isolating the fire/protecting the main body of the aircraft rather than putting it out in a lot of cases. So if fire propergation was added, then maybe you could stop the spread using that tactic.
1 hit
2 hit
It’s not out, but the loss of vertical stabilizer is keeping it extremely slow and will EVENTUALLY crash since autopilot is unable to compensate for the sideslip
They just seem to be going out passively which is… something.
If the engine became fuel starved, then sure, but I dont think that is the case.
The next B-29 lost a wing on the third APKWS hit. If that’s consistent then the wing is ~3x stronger than it should be.
You mean like what I complained about with .50s?
Oil lines can be cut and catch alight, if it was a dribble, that’d be nothing too bad to worry about, but oil lines are pressurized
Another fix too is that rounds/fragments need to be able to pass through the spar, because currently, rounds will bug out and ghost through modules when passing through a spar. I couldn’t do fuel tank tests with the he-111 due to it.
Yeah, there does come a point where I assume they are modeling fuel/oil being cut to the engine, but the question is how achievable that is with severe wing/engine damage
Oil lines are something else I thought they should model, as those could be severed at least and maybe even set on fire too.
HE Fragmentation seems bugged period with bombers at the moment
Fuel lines would be good to add as well.
Anything AP related or just a solid projectile just seemingly won’t go through structures like that.
Yeah, they would.
All on my current list of changes needed
and then the SAPHE does this on the first hit lmao

yeah but you’re complaining about it with regular fuel tanks and not ones with a trillion health

SAPHE apkws
HE apkws
Ok just direct hit the wing spar with an 18kg APHE shell and it’ll kill the bomber, easy! Everyone has those.
They need to revamp fuel tanks overall to not just “not self-seal from catastrophic damage” but to actually light on fire because it takes a huge amount of rounds from API to catch them alight when realistically, API-T and incendiary were great at starting fires.
Again. ALLL API rounds struggle with lighting fuel tanks. It’s just that the U.S. API rounds are the most obvious example.
This bomber rework is just kinda shedding light on all the issues with aircraft DMS.
the issue is that certain sections have 900% as much hp as they do on live when 300% would have been more than sufficient and quite realistic
Meanwhile people were blasting an A-10 and large caliber High explosives at sections invulnerable to breaking off.
And if you do it on live server, the damage is simply passed over to the breakable sections - and the bomber is shot down. There is no need for additional breakable sections.
It’s obvious that these should be killing blows.
By the way I also opened up with the A-7E on the outer engine nacelle and wing section. Still took about a thousand hits to sever it.
