The fusalage of the B-17 didn’t “fall apart” when hit closer by that Nike Ajax you shared.
Several seconds after impact, the plane remains intact, albeit shredded, with no chance of recovery.
Two different angles give us a good idea of how close it was, but thanks for confirming you pulled 16 meters out of nowhere.
If this isn’t just a visual desync bug, then this is a different story.

That is generally how explosions work. They lose a lot of force quickly, especially at high altitudes.
Though I wouldn’t use the word “unaffected”.

Damage from a decent blast would still be severe, but not “plane combusts violently and turns into pieces” severe.

Because my sources were wrong doesnt mean the math was, I actually used AI to instantly reverse search your picture to find where it was, I also found skin thicknesses for the lower wing surface and horizontal/vertical stabilizers, and now I can adjust everything accordingly
Also, Im not overstating the thickness by 150 percent, thats fraudulent, like your film, this was a mere 40 percent discrepancy which Ive admitted to and am now actively correcting

Remember, the Zuni is powerful enough to destroy TANKS on the ground with a near miss.

The fuselage skin is even thinner.
You built your whole diagram around a skin thickness of 2mm when the thickest part of the wing is 1.6mm and most of the plane is around 1mm.
