Changes to Bomber Survivability Feedback and Discussion

B29s were known for engine issues, cant wait to see the he177 😭

Not the ones near the fuselage? So that big grey flap going down and the tail elevator must have been fallen due to some loose bolts and nuts

Looks like someone is completely unaware of the B-29’s cabin pressurization system… :(

As i said before, player controlled b29 would crash shortly after that hit, I see no issue here, that wing is probably entire black or red and the lift difference would cause it to just keel over and die, bot controlled aircraft dont really follow this

This damn plane was flying between 25,000 and 30,000 feet I want you to keep that in mind.

Look, man, I shouldn’t need to explain everything to you. Even accounting for Gaijin being often inaccurate, the tail rudder is secured by less surface area. Of course it’s going to come off easier.

Just enjoy that bombers can sustain the punishment their size, speed, and role deserve.

ignoring the massive flap falling down

That “massive flap”, known as an Aileron, was under the explosion’s source and close to its origin. It’s obvious why it came off.

Oh i will totally enjoy it, i can’t wait to ace crew all of them

Buddy this sentence alone summarizes the situation.

Wait wait wait, so the massive flap, that’s almost attached to the fuselage, was close to the origin of the explosion? As it was the whole fuselage? And the whole plane?

Go ahead. Check back with me a few months after the update goes live and people start adapting.

You’re being vague and provocative. Explain what you mean if not the rudder and aileron. We are adults and can use our words responsibly.

And do not forget, the B-29 model is 11 years old. It can have problems with damage visibility and transparency.

This, i’m meaning this
The massive flap going down
The same flap that goes from the aleiron all the way to the fuselage
The exact same flap that SHOULD be too far from the explosion because it’s 20m too far
The B-29 flap that got tore down by a 40kg of tnt explosion while MOST LIKELY leaving the whole aircraft yellow or probably slightly orange next to it

The very edge of the flap couldve been in the radius and since the flap is modeled as one part, the whole thing came off, bombers need more sections and modules

The bomber model is 11 years old, for one, and I didn’t say no damage; I said the plane would be flyable.

The left flap, aileron, and rudder were blown off. That isn’t the pilots or the engines. The wings still generate lift, albeit less. It is likely the plane will still gradually descend from this damage, which is a rational outcome.

Keep up your theories guys, one is saying the plane will definitely go down due to the damage and the other that it’s still flyable

then this behavior is very incorrect, all self guiding missiles with proximity fuses should not pre-detonate

AA-6 should have directly impacted and literally cut the tail from the rest of the plane or directly hit the wing and blown half off, this is a missile the size of a long range SAM (Hawk SAM for example) with a comparable warhead

It should not be guided anywhere but the engines. The Engines are the main heat and Doppler signature for propeller-driven bombers. They should be guiding towards the engines, not the mid to rear fuselage.

This is what a sparrow does to a QB-17 target drone. This is from a 29kg warhead. Your idea that somehow a 40kg warhead should do negligible damage is laughable.

Note the missile targets the wing with a impact, which causes a catastrophic loss of lift unlike what a hit to an empty rear fuselage would do.

You can see the propellers fall apart from the explosion. The wing and fusalage itself is intact.
