“15 B-52s destroyed, ten falling in North Vietnam and five crashing in Laos or Thailand, with more damaged. Of the 92 crewmen aboard the lost aircraft, 26 were rescued, 33 captured, 25 listed missing and eight killed or dead of wounds.”
How many times have I been proven wrong in this entire thread? You got the skin thickness being 1.6mm, not 2mm (0.4mm is alot for you, isnt it) aaaaaand…
the following day seemed to go very well for them
like looking at this pretty much all of them were either instantly destroyed or had to be abandoned after 1 sam hit and ur soy pointing at the single one that was hit by two and survived long enough to also be abandoned lol
The entire operation resulted in 15 bomber losses, 5 of those bombers were lost after limping back to friendly territory and ejecting, the remaining 10 were lost over northern vietnam in varying states of damage, and a further 9-12 B52s were damaged and managed to land back home
During this operation a B52 even scored a kill on a mig21 with its tail gunner
were those from direct hits or the missile being close or maybe from the missile being just far enough to set off the proxy fuse but not quite close enough to destroy it
we cant know because as you said theres no footage or pictures and whatnot
“falling apart like legos” bombers can on occasion (just like how in real life they would SOMETIMES survive crazy shit) survive alot of damage and “falling apart like legos” is far better than what we have on the dev server in terms of gameplay
Ok, lets assume all 10 bombers lost over vietnam were lego incidents. SO that leaves us 5 bombers that didnt lego and limped back home (cant limp a lego), and 9-12 (im gonna assume 9 to be nice) bombers that MADE it all the way home. Thats 10-14. That is a 71% chance of bombers NOT legoing when pounded by a god damn SA-2. That seems like most of the time they’re surviving crazy shit
Also… “OnHitChanceMultFire” sounds more like a multiplier to a base fire chance (likely gotten from the fuel tank itself) than the fire chance of the shell itself.
The name of this variable itself is something like Fire Chance Multiplier On Hit if we un-shorten it.
humans overstating can literally effect any report ever, if you wanna go that route, fine, all the reports previously posted are lies and all thats left is guncam footage and math, which paint a very ugly picture for the result the fighter mains are going for
