Challenger 3 MBT - Technical Data and Discussion

Which is ironic as the Challenger 3 uses a completely different mantlet to the Challenger 2… it never needed to be changed

Still no update on tea machine???

I imagine that, if it doesn’t have one by standard, crews would actively retrofit them into the vehicles for the sheer utility of it.

naturally

The mantlet/breach looks massive, looks wider than the turret cheeks.

its around the same size as the Chally 2, but it looks a lot more armoured

Surely gaijin can’t be that bad… surely??

Looks really good. I find the CR3(TD) in game just looks, naked.

But looks a lot better with its proper armour

Is it even known what the armour panels are? ERA or NERA?

All we know is they are newly designed external armour arrays called “EPSOM”, with the new internal armour named “FARNHAM”

RBSL have two publicly visible patents (not active) regarding armour, with one being an ERA panel patent.

Therefore its not unreasonable to assume it is a form of ERA, it visually looks like ERA. However, many people claim it is composite addons which are just modular in design.

RBSL has confirmed the Challenger 3 is going to be at DSEI very soon, hopefully we get some more information then.
