Challenger 2 Overhaul

But this isnt the thread for that.

And again, the Ariete did get buffs the CR2/CR3 did not relatively recently.

They got 5 second reload DM53, whilst the CR3 did not, despite being, if anything, weaker than the Arietes in most respects and the CR2 hasnt gotten a single bug fix in over a year.

If you want to complain about the Ariete, make a mirror thread for it, i’ll even come vote for it.

But this is about the CR2. Arguably the weakest tank across the board. It has the second weakest shell at top tier (DM43 has slightly less pen). Is the slowest tank at top tier and, so long as you aim anywhere other than the turret cheeks. No meaningful survivability.

When the CR2 shares the BR of things like the 122. Respectively. I disagree. If the BR system isnt going to be used for balance, then buffs must be used instead. And none of the requested changes are ahistorical. They are all very well documented, with accepted bug reports

Okay, I won’t talk about Ariete in this thread anymore
But I’ll keep it to a minimum, but…
I don’t think Challenger is bad

So you are saying the Challenger 2 should be ahistorically and artificially nerfed because its “fine”

That’s right. If you can talk about the basic performance of the tram, you should apply it
But Gaijin hasn’t been doing anything for years

No, I mean, if it’s true, I think we should do what’s supposed to apply
But Gaizin doesn’t really apply “argumental” things…

For your information, I’m trying to study all the chariots, and I don’t want them to be weakened simply because I don’t like them

Then re-read the post. All changes requested are based upon fixes to bring the CR2 in-line with IRL sources.

Yes, we could request a 4 second reload to restore the reload buff we once had for balance.

Yes we could request the FnF Brimstone 2 found on the CR2SF2 despite only being a mockup

Yes, we could request CR3(P) to be added with DM63/DM83 to give us something onpar with the Leoaprd 2A7/2A8

But instead this is a thread about fixing historical issues on the CR2

I mean… even though we both have differences of opinion, the demand for this game is the same I’m leaving. I hope you get a meaningful result

Okay, I hope you enjoy the game

I will if they ever fix the CR2

Well considering we are at 12k posts on the technical data and discussion thread(s); which to my knowledge is the largest thread on this forum and nothing has been done, I don’t think it’s all that likely we’ll be seeing any fixes implemented this decade.

Really is a shame because it’s such an interesting vehicle. I do well enough in it, but with far more effort than I need to put in with a Leopard or a T-80. I mostly just play it for the drip at this point.

Yeah… clearly community interest in seeing it fixed and the community side of the work has been done. Just a shame Gaijin wont put in the effort

Nothing wrong with the power output of CV12, it’s commonly ran at 2000hp in marine settings.

Main limiting factors for the chally’s powerpack are cooling system and transmission.

It’s always been so weird how gaijin works around this. Certain vehicles get to run at power settings that would tear the transmission apart and/or overheat the engine if used for over a couple minutes (VT1-2, for example) and others are limited to peacetime performance.

Man i forgot how bad stock challenger is

Not only L23 is the worst stock round at top tier its also has the worst dispersion i ever seen on any stock tank.

This is going to be another pain in the ass moment.

Great news; it never quite feels like it improves enough to keep trying.

I like my Chally2 and 2F and im getting warm up to Black Night.

Even tho they are not best tank they look quite nice and i enjoy playing them.

They look great and the new camo netting on the 2F is one of the best buffs Challenger 2 has receieved in a long time.
But when you break down the stats L27A1 is not a good round and is hard to use at range with it’s sudden drop off.

You also have the added handicap of full uptiers.

If you are spading the BN, then you will only face 12.0s which might as well be considered 13.0+ tanks.

In the 11.7s like the 2F, you stand a reasonably good chance of getting downtiers and so are actually fighting your peers in the form of the 11.0/11.3 stuff and so it doesnt feel quite so stupid
