the model is wack yeah, for the outer portions the plate should be 50mm, and the inner portions 70mm with a face plate of 25mm.
In my opinion, Cr2 should get a full rework/remake in the future. There is too much to fix to be added in small patches, and that will prbably break other things. Just make it from scratch

I think it was you I talked about this.
That blue armor plate takes up volume for the actual composite armor which is volumetric making the composite less effective than the side composite covering the sponsons which doesn’t have it since the photos don’t show the side having those mounting plates.
I’m not at home but you test it, the composite at the side that doesn’t have it is like 40mm more effective than the part covering the crew compartment. Iirc you can see with3BM46, that round can penetrate the ufp of the crew compartment but can’t penetrate the ufp covering the sides.
The turret and other stuff is fine in that they don’t have that plate, it’s just the way they modeled the ufp on the Challenger.
The side composite on the challenger 2 is a whole other conversation.

No that plate is modeled, I forgot if it was either 50 or 60mm. The challenger 2 used to have the bottom of its turret not show in the armor viewer so you can highlight it and see the thickness, it’s RHA. I’m not sure about now since they corrected that.
Fireball posted images of the factory, you can see the metal plate on top of the main structure.
I know it is modelled, but turret also has it. The hull one is not modelled one

I wish the whole hull had the same effectiveness as the outer sides, those sweet 630+mm values… which, according to pretty much everyone on this planet, is closer to the actual hull values and performance it should have.

It’s because of the fuel tanks, you need to use a round that can’t penetrate the composite on the side but can penetrate the composite on the center to see its true armor value.
The side is 30-40mm more effective without accounting for the fuel tanks

46 seems to got nerfed since then
It seems reasonable to me. IT would be a nice buff. But still there is an elephant in the room

Fuel tanks aren’t counted as armor on the armor viewer, though
