Yes and no.
Yes the Challenger 2 is missing some roof armour.
No this doesn’t indicate it is. This is part of the upgrades. It’s like saying because the Leopard 2A6 has the 120 L/55 gun that means that the 2A4 should have it.

what im saying is IF we found a similar cr2 prototype photo could it be reported theres armour missing?
I believe the Cr2 prototype had very little changes between it and the production model. The prototype in the Bovington tank museum does have the roof armour on.
Somebody already made a suggestion for the prototype on the old forum.
Challenger 2 Prototype (1989) - Passed for Consideration - War Thunder - Official Forum
Oh boy please do
perfectly balanced
So is it basically just the same Challenger 2 but without L27?
With L27
so a Challenger 2
In that case just add the Omani CR2 firing L23A1 with the improved bag charge
not in 1989
Challenger 2 with L26
Aww :(
Nah gajin don’t know what charges mean
Who uses L28 other then us oman uses it right
Probably don’t want to risk Russia getting their hands on them
Roof armour? That’s clearly 10mm of Aluminium.
No that’s not just normal aluminium. It’s Her Majesty’s finest kettle aluminium. It has a 500x better ability to protect compared to some composite armour and the inside is 20x larger for superior water boiling ability. This means that because of the larger space in the turret that means that 3 loaders can be used meaning that the CR2 prototype has a 0.5 second reload.

So what you’re saying is I need to go to my local Challenger 2 with a few magnets?
What you need is just one of his majesty’s finest pound coins, and to attack it like a scratch card. If the armour comes off like this…
Then it isn’t Aluminium, it’s even softer.
And even better you can get awarded £100 million (worth of damages you have to pay to the MoD now).
I mean this specific Challenger 2 was given to a museum by BAE Systems so the damages would probably be split between the two (and is also in poor condition I don’t want to hurt it any more)
If only we stopped building our tanks out of solid gold. The CR3 project would be under-budget, and GJN wouldn’t have to model the armour like playdough!
