It is my pleasure to announce- Challenger 2 just got a survivability buff!
The back charge ammo storage bin was corrected.
Before, many of the charges at the back were vertically split in 2, and each half was stored separately; which led them to fill the entire back rack even when only carrying 14 shells as I do, which, in turn, led to ammo detonation whenever the hull was penetrated, since the entirety of the back was coated in charges.
However, now, the charges are correctly modelled and stored; so, now, carrying 14 shells as I do, there’s only charges on the left side of the rack, right behind the loader, and not in the center of the hull any longer!
Basically, the ammorack surface area was reduced by 50%.
Now Challenger 2s are officially better than Challenger 3 (TD) lmao. At least until (if) 3 (TD) gets the same 5 second reload as them (and its missing 17hp).
Yeah I also have photos of the 50 cal on a normal challenger 2 without the TES or Dorchester. Wasnt the Grenade launcher GMG not AGL (or is it the same weapon just german made and american)
I think the issue you’ll have will be the way that the image is distorted by wide angle lenses making it hard to map the crew onto where they should be in the tank
Yes or we use math. to calculate a from the size of the tank to the begning of the road wheels predict how much roof armour is exactly on the challenger then work our way to the seats. How hard can it be?
That would require gaijin to model regenerative steering and the Challengers hydrogas suspension giving it better offroad performance than other tanks, but they wont
yeah, as far as I’m aware the Chally 2, Leclerc, Type 10 and some other top tier tanks have hydrogas or hydraulic suspenion This provides better offroad performance for the tank, of course not modelled ingame.
Tanks lacking it are the Leopard, Abrams and Russian/Chinese tanks. Modelling suspension better would be the perfect buff for “minor” nations as they use advanced suspension a lot more than the big three.
