great find.
hmm?
what?
oh didnt see the edit, yeah i agree
do you by any chance have a photo of the rotor pins or locks? IF we had them we could eliminate the holes in the mantlet
wish i did
that doesnt look like the rotor, but it looks like a plate to screw onto the rotor. maybe a way to fixate the gun into the rotor
Yea, thats what im about. You screw it from the inside using the frame and from the outside using a collar
ok so, on the inside we would have that plate that screws onto the rotor.
but what if on the outside the plate that screws onto the rotor actually has 2 dents that fit into the rotor holes locking the pins in place
im not sure if i mean dents but you know what i mean
Umm what?
No i dont
You have the rotor
And the turret
Pins go from the outside into the turret holes, then into the rotor. They are locked by locks that come from the outside, and then a plate is screwed on th front of the rotor, locking locks in place (and also work as armour), or plate has locks on itself
yes, and then theres a plate that covers rotor from the outside
maybe it fits like this:
Spoiler
Yea, either that or locks are separate things. We dont know for sure
but it would make sense because that plate would lock evrything from the outside in place. including the pins
Yea. Sadly if something makes sense means nothing. We need hard data. That is why im saying. They might be saparate, might be combined
You know… its kinda funny how the old mantlet looks like the Challenger 3 TDs mantlet…
i’ll do it for you XD
For the 120 on CR 3 it is very likley that its the same as in Leo 2 because i doubt they would redesign the entire breach
Correct
Same. I was looking forward for the Challenger rework, but after seeing not only what they did to the 2s, but also what they did to 3TD, uh… nah, I’ll pass.
As if the previously reported issues, such as the first order ammorack being only 4 shells and the replenishment time being 26 seconds, weren’t enough…
Indeed, the disappointment is immeasurable, but we must cling on to hope or else our (metaphorical) battle with gaijin is lost. CLING ON TO HOPE BROTHERS!!!
Made a head-on thickness map for the main mantlet part using the collision mesh. Should explain why some values in protection view are so low:
In front of this part (which is volumetric) is the 60mm plate (volumetric), then the sloped front section which consists of 2 parts: a 30mm plate (not volumetric), and a top layer (volumetric) which ranges from 30 to 43mm.
interesting to note is that no section of the main mantlet part is the stated 400mm:
Spoiler
some quick maths puts the minimum thickness at 195mm (ignoring armour type).
