Nice, I initially also wanted to become a tank commander and officer, but the Bundeswehr is let’s say not the best place for this because there is quite a high probability that you end up spending the 12 years you enlisted at a desk instead of in a tank.
So I decided against it
Officers have two sides, on one side they are man-managers and paperwork-pushers, on the other they are bloody-minded war enthusiasts. Interesting people.
